View Full Version : German spoiler
kevli 02-23-2001, 07:27 AM On www.subaru.de, (http://www.subaru.de,) under the new age impreza section, look under function and design, and the German spoiler is shown.
I was told by a dealer that if you can get a part number for it,they will order it. It may just take some time,
any body know about the part #?
Jon Bogert 02-23-2001, 07:32 AM Wow! That's a much nicer spoiler design.
I think the Germans have weird laws against rear wings. The original Porsche turbo had a rubber lip on the whale tail because TUV was afraid it would slice and dice pedestrians or something.
I've got a quote for $360 + tax and shipping for this spoiler from a Subaru dealer in Scandinavia. It comes unpainted.
I've asked them for the part number that I'll post when they reply.

Mark Bebko 02-23-2001, 11:09 AM Forget the wing. Those optional wheels are hot! See what you can find out about those.Price and size.
I've read on this board that Graham Goode in the UK has the stock 17" 5-spoke for $1100 (set of four, no rubber) deliverd to your door. I've not confirmed this.

WRXster 04-02-2001, 05:42 PM Has anyone found the actual part number for this spoiler?
Bueller?

Samirr76 05-13-2001, 02:58 PM So anybody find part numbers for that German sedan spoiler? I REALLY want one.
harrydog 05-13-2001, 05:04 PM Isn't there a way to contact Subaru of Germany via email? Most likely they will respond to an english inquiry. Even better if someone who spoke German well could contact them.
Murphy 05-13-2001, 07:33 PM Subaru of Germany forwarded my inquiry to a dealer. They have contacted me and said they will send info. on the wing and other parts. As soon as I receive it I'll post the info.

Samirr76 05-13-2001, 09:18 PM Thanks Murphy! You da man. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif
StrikerATN 05-13-2001, 10:49 PM Bump and also mentioning that I want one. =)
Group buy perhaps?
Samirr76 05-14-2001, 06:03 AM I'm down for a group buy as well.
Ginseng 05-14-2001, 06:17 AM Let's keep this one alive. I'm interested. It was coming down to either this wing or a the bi-level carbon-fiber billet alumninum GT wing. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif
StrikerATN 05-14-2001, 10:31 AM Uwrx,
Why would you pay tax for something shipped from Scandanavia? =) I noticed your location was Seattle, WA.
Also, why would the spoiler come unpainted? You would think that since it's a stock Subaru part it would come pre-painted in the stock WRX colors like what we have over here.
RoadRash 05-14-2001, 10:35 AM I'm game for a group buy for the Scandinavian spoiler.
Unpainted from the dealer is not that weird actually. All the UK aero bits come in silver only--all other colors need to be pained.
According to the dealer I talked to the "german" spoiler comes primed and ready for painting. The dealer does offer painting for an additional price.
FYI. I'm having the stock spoiler installed tomorrow so I'm no longer looking at this option.
Let me know if anyone got more infomation to get one. I like it. Keep me in the loop.
Samirr76 05-14-2001, 03:43 PM Has anyone else seen any other pictures besides the one in this thread and the one from the foreign auto show of the blue car with the WRC decals? The spoilers in each of those pictures looks different. Maybe its just the angle. But I'd like to see some more pics before i Plunk down my $300+ bucks. ANyone seen any?
Jon [in CT] 05-14-2001, 07:48 PM Yes, here's a page with more pix of the Euro aerokits (http://www.hadel.net/autos/html/subaru_wrx_2001_mit_tuning-kit.html) (mostly Sport Wagon). In Germany and the Nederlands, it called the "small" rear spoiler. For those who're too lazy to click, here's another (poor resolution) view:
<IMG SRC="http://www.hadel.net/autos/assets/images/s_aero_4.jpg" border=0>
Samirr76 05-14-2001, 08:31 PM I like it....I like it alot. Windering how come in most of the pics it looks like it (the spoiler) is warped on one side...must be the angle...
Why tax? Because the store I talked to was not interested in shipping directly to me which meant that I would have to get someone to buy it locally and ship it. Hence the tax.
Why unpainted? No idea, that's the way they come.
Samirr76 05-15-2001, 12:55 AM Hmmn, if its a dealer item why would it come unpainted? Weird... I'm still interested though. If we can get enough people in on the group buy and get the price down to $300 I'm sold on it http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif
Should we inquire with another dealer to see if we get any conflicting information? Just to keep things honest...

StrikerATN 05-15-2001, 07:27 AM Anyone hear anything from that dealer yet?
Samirr76 05-15-2001, 10:15 AM Are there any other sources we can go to for this? Maybe an online vendor? My searches have turned up nothing...
Rattler 05-21-2001, 05:25 PM I would be up for one if the price is reasonable. Mine got deleted. Kinda glad.
Samirr76 02-21-2002, 02:20 PM I'd like ot keep this alive. If I can get a part number it would be so much easier to track one down.
blaznasn 02-21-2002, 02:42 PM damn this thread is old, but yea i would like to know if anyone actually got one also
WRXster 02-21-2002, 04:09 PM Once upon a time there was a Little Wing that Everybody (except frederf apparently:)) wanted, but nobody knew it's name so they couldn't ask for it... and this made the Little Wing verrry sad :(
All alone in it's box, the Little Wing atleast was glad it wasn't painted because it's tears won't show once somebody DOES find it...

In2Deep 02-21-2002, 04:18 PM I like it better than the stock wing we have state-side. Too bad it's not offered here right through the dealer.
Frederf 02-21-2002, 10:53 PM Personally, I don't like that spoiler, it a bit pitsey. A mor conventional low type, or a the RS Box-type would be better.
