Those eyelids look cool, but don't they block the turn signals? the turn signals are in the upper portion of the headlamp assembly right?

PunkRS: just because you don't like the way it looks, it doesn't mean it's rice. And why would you stick with a '01? Hopefully you're not buying it for looks (dear God, let's hope not) you're buying it for the performance.

I agree with PunksRS, I'd call that rice to. Its not just because I don't like how it looks either. Its because its a visual modification that blocks your turn signals. You're sacrificing your safety and courtesy towards other vehicles simply because you think it looks better. That my friend is rice.

Some of you wouldn't no rice if it was thrown at you at your wedding. Those eye lid's are in no way rice.

I dont think cops are gonna notice it. They dont know what a wrx looks like neways, so they are not going to know that its not stock. How many cops have enough time to look at ur car and then notice thats not the way it came. If I had just waited a little longer. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif I think it looks cool, even with the bug eyes, but I like those eyelids. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif Oh well, I'll just have to settle for mods on the RS (cold air induction anyone?).

BTW, the salesman where I bought it showed me this web site, and even helped me get my account set up.

The Jun mod looks like sleeping cat face in the front but look pretty funny.

Brainrally, welcome to the club. You say you salesmen reffered you here. If the Imprezidents aren't already on SOA's payroll they really should be. I mean with the amount of marketing and research this site saves them you think they'd be giving them some incentives.

I dont like the eyelids either but the WRC headlight conversion would do the trick !

The new headlights have grown on me quite a bit. See the car in person before you go off about them anymore. I showed the pictures of the new car in this month's SCC to a friend who was unfamiliar with the old model last night. First comment? "I like the headlights."

As far as the headlight "lids" here...the car looks a little stoned.

Too funny. I thought the eyelids would look better, but now the car kinda looks pissed off. Hehe. The stock headlights aren't that bad, are they? I like the prodrive conversion, like on the rally cars. Thats gonna be the look.

Guys, not dissing the covers or anything - I kind of like them, but, say you're turning in front of oncoming traffic, and you are signalling, but as you are making the turn, someone in an oncoming lane hits you. Their excuse is that they didn't see you turning. Investigators notice the headlight covers. I'd think that you could be found liable for the accident due to illegal modifications.

Geez guys. Just because the eyelid modification is ricey, doesn't mean that it is bad. Don't take it personally!

Some people like a little rice, some people like a lot of rice. Some rice can be tasteful, some rice can be god-awful.

Back to the thread - I don't think blocking the turn signals is a good idea. The bugeye look is really growing on me - very distinctive.

the headlamps are starting to get to me too, but i think the eyelids make it looked pissed off. and btw, is that the white from the factory or aftermarket paint job?

Still waiting to see if anyone takes this a step further and makes a more permanent block, and re-wires and mounts new turning signals to the side... Every day though this new front end is warming up to me..

The term "Rice" is seriously way overused and misused. Rice should refer to someone who has made exterior modifications to their car (such as wings or stickers) and acts as if their car has an increase in performance because of the modifications. If someone paints their car pink or puts tons of stickers on their car, and does it because they like it, it is NOT rice. It would only be rice if that individual then proceded to rev his engine at everyone, thinking he can beat them, because of those 'non-performance' modicfications.

Basically if you spend your money on a car, and enjoy hooking it up, then that is great. Don't call someone Rice because they do what they want with their money and have pride in their automobile. If you don't like what I have on my car, when you pay for my monthly payments, then I will put what you want on the car. Until then Quiet Down. Use the term where it is appropriate, not just to label something you dislike.

And BTW as you can see by my post above, I do NOT think the eyelids are Rice. While true they may not be the smartest modification (due to the covering of the turn signal) they are not Rice. Lets wait and see if the turn signal is readily visible with the eyelid on. There is still a small amount of space available for the light to shine through. It may be enough for it to be visible by other cars. If not, then I don't think that the mod would be wise.

Its like they learn something and then just start using the hell out of it.

Unfortunately they sometimes cant tell the difference and just end up labeling it out of ignorance.
