Does anyone know if it is legal anywhere in the United States to run Amber headlights? Probably not in Geeeyogiah! I used to see them a lot in Europe...(this was 15 years ago) Was it a fad?

Amber lights? I believe in Europe they allow a city light, which is a low wattage bulb when driving around brightly light citys.

No that is illegal in the US, the best we can have is our daytime running lights at a slightly reduced voltage.

I know they used to require amber (yellow, not orange) headlights on all cars in France, but I believe they changed the law a few years ago. I asked a cop here which colors are ok once, he said that as long as it isn't a color that emergency vehicles use (blue, red) then it's OK to use on the front of your car. But they are not really picky here in Nevada so your state might be different.

May want to check the state codes, just to be sure. I got a warning from a Glendale Heights cop after coming back from a meet last year. Since then I carry the Illinois vehicle code section relating to headlights with me. And YellowStarts are nice.

Not according to the cop. He said it was the light color and didn't mention the housings even after he'd gotten a good look at them. That or by that time he realized he didn't have a speeding ricer on his hands and decided it wasn't worth the effort.

id love to get amber bulbs for my jdm lights but i already know how bad id get harassed. besides i dont really need anymore attentionmy luck id get pulled over for lights and get a ticket for loud exhaust, no cats, illegal fog/driving lights, non dot compliant headlights, lowered to much, driving with my dog, not have a litter bag in the car etc. why do we have so many stupid laws? f*ck:mad:
