I've never had my car to the track. I thought it would be interesting to try to launch my 03 WRX wagon as fast as possible.
I discovered that it's harder to launch when revving 4,000-5,000 than when just slipping from about 3,000 rpm.
Can someone explain why?
Also, my car stunk like 20 pounds of burnt clutch, both times. Is this normal for hard launching?
