For those that did the headlight mod (paint the chrome housing black), how are your light holding up?? Do you get any condensation or leaks?? I'm contemplating performing this mod, but would like some long term results before I dive in. Your info would be greatly appreciated.

2 months of nothing but rain so far and not a single leak or fog.
I did add some extra silocone before reassembly. Not very much though. You may not even need to at all but i added some just to be safe.

I want to do this and use flat black.
Any tips on what kind of paint I should buy?
I don't want the paint to fall off later

i have done about 12234453 sets of lights. i have done my old GC8, a couple sets for rexes (02-03) and now my own sets of MY04's all the times i have used a BBQ & Stove paint. it is a flat black and a high temp. like i have said i have done a lot of set...the first set i did was in november of 2001 i think....it has held up until now. if done correctly it will hold up...on the 02-03's silicone IS NEEDED to seal properly. regular black silicone sealant will work just fine. on the 04's it isnt really needed because the casing is held together by screws.

well i may be holding on to an extra set.....ie i have one now...will exchange it for a friends stock ones, then do those and so on and so forth....that way if you wanted a set i could do it, send it to you, then when you swap them, send me the others....or i guess i could make a trip to dfw...since i havent hung with those guys in like 2 years :D
