Anyone out there going to put in an aftermarket exhaust? Who is the best manufacturer for the WRX?

I'm leaning towards the Apexi (although that 5 in. tip is HUGE).

HKS will have it's Hiper Exhaust available during the summer... IMHO, they're pretty synonymous with A'PEXi. Others will follow... Blitz with it's NurSpec and A'PEXi with it's N1 (once they do some R&D). Call me simple, but I like the stock dual tailpipes... 5" tips are too showy. If you want more info, ask xtreme2imprz on this thread: http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/Forum28/HTML/000414.html

He went to the IAS in Long Beach and talked to some vendors as well.

MRT has an exhaust system for the cars (If you are looking for a full exhaust.) We carry their system which can be gotten as a complete header-back package. If you are just wanting a muffler, we have had wonderful luck with our Magnaflows. You can see both on our webpage at www.prestige-motorsports.com. (http://www.prestige-motorsports.com.)

Hey deadbolt, since Prestige carries BPM stuff as well, will you be able to get the Twister exhaust system for the WRX?

You guys should check out the Scoobynet BBS: bbs.scoobynet.co.uk and look in the drivetrain forum. There is a TON of great advice from guys who know a lot about tuning 2.0L Subaru turbos.

In brief, it appears that replacing the downpipe is the biggest pure gain, but after that you're just trading quiet for power.

Scoobynet also has a dyno chart archive, including many before and after comparisons for exhaust changes.

I have the Prodrive WRSport. It looks great and sounds even better. I got it from Mastro Subaru (www.mastrowrx.com) for $460 plus shipping. It took me 15 mintues for bolt it on. I went with this one for now until there are more choices for 3"-ers and downpipes. Check my post in the WRX Non Technical Forum for pics.

Does anyone have any experience with the BPM GT EXHAUST SYSTEM thats advertised on http://www.autocaresubaru.com/wrx.html ?

I couldnt tell if this one was turbo-back or engine back? Will I be street legal for emissions with this? How does it sound? Waht performance gains will I see? Etc... Any advice will be appreciated.
