what the heck is a tumbler? I under stand where it goes.. but what is the function?

The tumbler is to generate turbulence in the airstream at idle and warmup, it's there for emissions.

So what are the chances of your car not passing smog with this thing?

That sounds like a good mod to me.

Help me out with project wedrex and give me a pair so I can tell everyone how good they are!

Sorry for not keeping up on this one, thanks for the replies.

We are not sure about the SMOG issue, because this will be the first time we received them from APS here in the US. My guess is you won't have a problem, but until we actually get them and someone tests them out to with the Emissions Testing- we won't know.

We do offer most of the APS line. We have SR40s in stock, along with DR500 FMICs, and will be getting a new shipment sometime next week, which will include some SR50s and much more.

that last 2 dozen people I've seen port, remove, or do something with the TGV's had horrendous idle issues. I can only imgine that MAYBE with a reflash, the car would be bearable.

That looks very nice, looks OEM. I have a question though, what engines have tumblers? Do you guys have an estimate on power gain or where it would be?

garface- These are EJ20 (Particularly USDM WRX) specific. APS has not released any info on any other TDV Systems for other motors, as of yet.

Unfortunately we have no power gain estimates. If I were to put a number here, I would be a liar. Once we have these available, a full dyno plot should be expected.

Ok, so there would be no need for these for an STi Ver. 7?

To my knowledge, there would be no need for these- as the JDM STi doesn't come with the tumblers that the US spec WRXs come with for emissions.

Thanks strange. My idle is prefect with the RA Spec C TGV valves. I have a UTEC for my form of engine management.

hey this place is a SCAM. i ordered about 18 days ago for parts they said they HAD IN STOCK. Moderators!!! please put this thread along with all thewrxstore threads into SCAM. THey took over 1000 from me. they charged my credit card, told me something wasn't in stock, i could have store credit, i ordered about a month later with my store credit, i havent received anything. i emailed them 5 times and called them everyday for the past 4 days. left voicemails everyday. i am going to call my lawyer tomorrow. i have their full address along with a false invoice they gave me. They are also called MASSIMOPERFORMANCE.com if you notice they conveniently took down their website and thewrxstore.com is no longer working either. VERY devious. I am so upset and pist off.

EDIT: The site IS working.

#1- This isn't a "scam". We have hundreds of MORE THEN satisfied customers, that we've done excellent business with.

#2- Calling things "hectic" around here, is putting is lightly. We're in the process of moving to a larger location, to help support the needs of our growing clientel and I have been in and out of the office every day this week. That means the phones haven't had the most attention payed. My apologies for anyone that's called.

#3- If you pay ANY attention :rolleyes: to the news- you might know about 2 new virus' going around. Seeing that we do MUCH work on the INTERNET, you can maybe guess that our computers have been down. We were nailed with about 3 billions viruses, so it's been very hard to get e-mail working right.

#4- Our servers have been infected with virus' causing the websites to be temporarily down. They weren't "conveniently taken down".

#5- There was never a "false" invoice. When you ordered, I told you and MADE SURE YOU KNEW AND AGREED TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS: We were awaiting the arrival of a Perrin shipment. I was NOT sure of the arrival date. I said it could be tomorrow, it could be next week. I DIDNT KNOW. You understood that when we got the parts- we would ship them ASAP.

As soon as I'm able to restore the information from our UPS computer, I will give you the tracking # for your shipment that went out this week. Tommy- you will receive a call from me by the end of the day.

Do you have the APS fuel rails in stock yet?

The purpose of the tumbler valve is like a choke on other vehicles, it aids in fuel air delivery during cold startups. By doing a delete, you increase the air flow through the intake manifold which increases HP.

I did a tumbler delete myself on my REX. The process wasnt hard to do. I cant tell you what the HP gain was officially, but a gain was noticed.

The APS unit is a super nice unit and with the extra injectors you can acomplish alot of different possibilites. Just remember, you have to have an aftermarket ECU to do either mod, yourself or APS.:D

OK, i got an email on August 23rd, 2003. Today is August 31st, 2003.

In the email you stated that the packages was sent. I know for a FACT no package takes more then 5-7 business days to ship out. I am still waiting for the package. It has almost been one month. I am very upset and unimpressed with your work. You offered a 50 dollar credit of some sort, but.. it is not WORTH the headache and hassle i have been going through with you. Why are you on the ball to jump and post SCAM all over the place. I have dealt with Nick for a while along with other APS distributors and know from doing my homework that these shops get d*cked around a lot by APS. Before you go out and post SCAM allover the place, why don't you call a couple of APS distributors and ask them about there experiences as being resellers of APS products. APS constantly f*cks them over and the last thing that a shop needs is for an ignorant person to post SCAM on there GBs. If you want to educate yourself I can give you a couple of different shops #'s that sell APS and you can ask them for yourself how APS treats them. Please don't try to ruin shop reputations by posting statements that are not true about a shop.

For your info... I own a very successful network consulting company and I along with my clients use NEXTEL equipment and forward to cell phone features. Once again, ignorance is not the solution. If you would like I can sell and install a Nextel phone solution for you if you can get a company up and running and stay successful (even when people post SCAM all over the place) enough to afford it...Just so you know the biggest hotel chain in the world (Marriott) along with (IDOT) Illinois Dept. of Transportation and ENO construction (biggest construction company in Illinois) all use Nextel to RUN THERE BUSINESS more efficiently. The reason people use Nextel forwarding is to provide better service to there customers. You on the other hand do not seem to appreciate the added feature that this company has and that is unfortunate. I guess that you would rather be sent to there PBX voicemail system and either be put in a queue or just get a message to leave your info and get a call back later. By having the Nextel service they are at least trying to make sure that you can contact them one step further than most companies. Your quote above insults a lot of companies/people out there and you should do your homework before you make bold statements like that. Nextel do provide business solutions for companies .. but what's the point of having this feature if you dont seem to want to reply to your customer's phone calls !!! busy ?? seriously, how busy can you get ?? i own a shop as well, i return all my business calls no matter what the time is .. thats why i have this feature ... NES007 .. so next time you want to jump in to someone's rescue .. make sure you know what has gone on with them before you sound more ignorant !!! i have got parts from japan and it has never taken this long before !!! the most i've waited was 2 wks .. so if anyone wants to jump in on this, feel free .. but find out what has happened before you open your mouth or begin to typ away !!!

Four things.
1. Nick was out of town, we both post with this username, anything you may have seen posted while he was gone was me.. hence the "Scott" at the end of posts
2. Tommy, you need to chill out. You've obviously gone out of your way to try and make us look bad. We admitted a mistake, we gave you store credit in return, the rest can be dealt with via PMs, phone, or email.
3. If ANYONE has a problem, PM, email (scott@thewrxstore.com) or call. Yes, getting a hold of us via phone has been difficult as of late due to our being very busy. PMs are replied to in hours, if not minutes, and I handle customer service, Nick does orders/shipments.
4. There is a line to CLICK if you want to be part of this GB. Two people have clicked this since the GB was put up. We aren't going to do a GB with two orders.

well scott, thank you for finally waking up.

it has been well over FOREVER. i am not going out of my way, i am a concerned customer who thought he was getting a great deal and i was told~!!!! that the shipment left. Hmmm, sounds fishy that i got no shipment. read what nick last posted, he said it was sent out and he is waiting on a ups tracking number. ups is either very very slow, OR... hmm you can figure out the rest. I'm sure if you were in my shoes, you would be farely upset as well.

If I were in your shoes I would not call other members of my club 'babbling fools' or hunt out every post the vendor made to make negative comments.
I would surely call, and keep calling, and if that didn't work, try other methods of contact.
