I just got this car, I love it! '97 Impreza sedan with an AT, is it possible to add cruise control like this:

http://www.subaruparts.com/catalog/?section=12#32

Also, the little remote keyless entry thing, that'll work with my power doors?

<-- new to subaru!

Yes, you can add cruise control. I put one on my 98 L Coupe. Think I paid $65 from subaruparts.com (a dealership in Tacoma, Washington).
Word to the wise; get a 7 mm square socket before you ever tough the pipe plug in the intake manifold for the cruise acutator vacuum source. The plug is almost impossible to remove. My plug is still in and mangled. Had to tee into the vacuum line below the plug to work the cruise.
I think remote door lock kits are available also.
Good luck,
Roy

sorry but the 98 won't work on the 97. The part is obsolete so you can't order one.
I haven't had any luck in finding one.
I think they are available in Canada but at over $400 I decided to pass.

Places like Pepboys and JC Whitney offer aftermarket ones that should work. Try a junkyard first though. There is a Subaru specific one in Rancho Cordova, CA.

:(

I saw the ones on JC Whitney's site... I guess I'll get one of those even though they stand out like a sore thumb!

The p/n that shows on subaruparts, H7010FA223, is the correct one for '97 AT, but they still may not have it. My suggestion would be to try this p/n at www.partsvoice.com (guest login) and see what comes up.

I guess I'll just get this:
http://jcwhitney.com/product.jhtml?CATID=4950&BQ=sc

and hook the brake light up to the off switch in case it doesn't do it automatically!
