Anyone have helpful info on a 98 RS clutch pedal that goes soft when driving in traffic. Fluid levels are fine, and has a tendency to do it during hot outside temps.

I wrapped my line in aluminum foil and zip tied it all in place, then I open my hood scoop in the summer time...seems to work well. sjd Peaty 06-28-2003, 06:53 PM First try bleeding the clutch: http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=491&highlight=Clutch+bleeding If that will not help, then it's most likely the slave cylinder's return spring getting weak. Time to get a new slave cylinder. This seems to be a common problem. Long, long story short, I ended up replacing the clutch slave cylinder because the spring was shot. After fixing this, I couldn't build pressure and ended up replacing the master cylinder, too. I only have about 65K miles on the car, but they probably equate to about 130K miles. :p lexmurphy 02-02-2006, 02:56 PM Has anyone had Peaty's scooby mod done?
