first i bought this impreza sedan awd because i love subies and its price-$400. now this makes you think what is wrong with it, well to began with EVERY panel has a dent-thats fine carbon will replace all. two the car is an automatic-i really want a manual. so i went up to garage kwai, minus the car and ask about switching engine and tranny-manual they said they didn't know unless they saw but, it might be expensive cause there is a lot of custom work. i still want to if its possible depsite cost, has anyone else done the same tranny switch? which motor is better the 2.2L or the 2.5L ? cause that too will be changed shortly. also i was at scoobyworld.com and i saw the afterburner tail lights- i love them, well they say they fit the 94 impreza, so my question is what is the difference between the 93 and the 94 just for the tail lights? also does anyone know where i can a good aerodynamic body kit for the 93? basically anyone who could have any thing to say about this could help, so please respond. thank you.

Tail lights were made all the same for the GC8 model, so they should fit. As for kits, um.. maybe a RS conversion? Pending on how much you want to spend it might be nice to just dump in a WRX motor/tranny and let her rip; like a 94-96 JDM WRX clip.

There are often engines for sale on this board in the private for sale forum.
2.2l can be had for cheap.- <1000, 2.5 are a little more. 2.0 WRX engines and tranny go for around 3-4K. next is JDM STi.
The 93 ECU is obdI so you will have wiring work to do for almost any swap. The good news is that they all bolt right up.
Check out the coversions forum. This has all been covered extensively.

You are best off going to an experienced place to do this swap work. That means with Subaru experience.

You can also turbo your 1.8l see the aftermarket induction forum.

The most popular conversion shops are:
i-speed in San Fran
Rallispec in NJ
LaChute near Montreal
Teaques North Carolina?

There are others too. Go on the mid-west forum and ask your question there.

The afterburner taillights would be nice small step IMHO. Just getting them will give you an idea how much work is required to get your Scooby the way you picture it in your head.

Now about the afterburner lights, why does it say they fit all 4 doors? Aren't 2 doors the same?
