i am interested in getting a full bra for the front of my 01 rs coupe. all i can find are the ones for 97-99 rs's. are these the same, or will it not fit right? if it isn't the same, where can i get one for my 01 rs? also, does anybody have pics of a dark red rs w/ one? i'm not sure how it would look, but i can't stand the paint on the front of my car getting ruined from all the bugs that get stuck and everything else that hits it. thanks.

essentially 98-01 impreza hoods are the same. So yes the 99rs bra would fit.

heres something to consider:
the previous owner of my 99 RS used a bra on the car since new until a few months ago when i bought it. i STRONGLY suggest you dont use one unless you plan on having small rust spots all over the front bumper and on the hood. ALSO an annoying thing is that i will never be able to get the outline of "IMPREZA" with a square around it off my hood because of the embossment on the bra.
but hey, if you like the look go for it. ill trade you front bumpers.

another side effect , I had recently put a new hood bra on my car. After about 2 weeks I took it off because it had rained and saw 2 long thin scratches that alligned with the top part of the hood cover. Don't know how they got there because there is no metal support or anything like that in the vinyl hood cover.
Barring a long ass cros country trip that thing won't be seeing any part of my hood ever again.
PS: I tried to return it the online specialty Subaru store (can't remember which one, but when i do i am going to let everyone on the site hear about it) but they wouldn't refund my money.

??? wow i'm surprised at the issues you guys have had.
i had an OEM accessory bra on my GT for eva....
http://www.subiegal.com/IMAGES/Car%20Stuff/Legacy/Autumn2000_2.jpg
took it off once a week... washed.. hung dry....
cleaned/waxed hood... put it back on....
i did not experience similar issues...
now with the RS -
i have stongard clear bra/kit on the entire car...
so i didnt opt for the OEM bra...
but it's a tough choice...
bra of some kind....
or rock chips galore
paint just doesnt hold up well....
well good luck to ya!
