My first Impreza was a 98 RS and after owning it for only a couple months, I was t-boned by a pickup, totaling the car. Now on my second Impreza a year later, after owning the car for only a couple months, yesterday a Buick Rondezvous decided to make a left turn right in front of me at an intersection. I had a green that turned yellow as i was at it and I had full right to go through when suddenly the Buick makes the left (in opposing traffic). I braked immediately but stil clipped the Buick's bumper, which abruptly flew off and in the collision my front passenger bumper got whacked pretty hard. No airbags went off, but my clear turning light, headlight, fog light, bumper vent, bumper, bumper beam, fender, and hood all sustained damaged, some much worse than others. DAMN THE LUCK!!!

To make matters worse the officer at the scene did not give the Buick driver a right of way ticket...but I am currently wokring on fixing that.

I had to vent a bit because I am just pissed as all hell!

Im not following. Why should he have the right of way ticket. You had the right of way didn't you? Unless I am confusing the terms of a right of way ticket.

Anyway, that really blows dude. Especially the fact that kind of car hit you. I mean thats almost as bad as a chevy avalanche or something of that H2 ugly factor. Goodluck with the repairs. Do you have any pics? I always keep a camera in my car just in case.

i meant that the other guy should have agotten a "failure to yield the right of way" ticket ;)

i do have a camera but its not a digital one so itll take a little bit for me to put up pics. ill get them up as soon as i can. at this point, no police officer can issue a ticket for the incident, correct? IIRC, its basically a matter of me talking with insurance companies (mine and his) about everything. unfortunately i dont have collision coverage because i couldnt afford it (being 17 and paying for a car and comprehensive plus some modifying is damn near impossible even with 40 hour weeks) and NY has "no fault" insurance....which blows for me....but we'll see what happens. ive always had terrible luck with cars though.

 :(

No fault = teh suck! I feel your pain too...Florida has the same situation. I'm paying almost $200 a month for insurance with a clean record and multi-car discount!
