Well..... this is based on trial & error runs.

At start off, I put the car in neutral and pump the brake to build up pressure and then hold. Then I'll put the car back into drive and then floor the throttle....

One thing I observed with the WRX auto tranny is if you power brake and just floor the throttle, it will only build up to 2500 RPMs and wont go any further. So how the heck are you going to hit the 3000-3500 RPM boost sweet spot? Instead of just holding the throttle, pump it a little bit and it will build up the RPMs. When it hits the sweet spot, let off the brake and keep the throttle floored.

About power braking too long and boiling the tranny fluid. If you notice in your guage pod there is a light called AT OIL TEMP. In the owners manual, it will say when the auto tranny has reached tempatures that you have to drive cautiously. So using this as a reference, even thought Power braking probally isn't good for the torque converter, tranny. I'm not stressing too much abount the tranny over heating, but I'm more concerned about the torque converter.
