I have my fuel filter with 3K miles on it. Can I swap this into my friends car which has 30K miles? I.E. does teh filter break down after being moistened by fuel and then dried out?

not exactly sure what u mean, but if you were to put ur slightly use fuel filter onto your friend's car, it should be fine, as long as it's the correct one

why are u giving him ur filter? are u getting another one? or just wanted to tested something out?

Spacerman (:D ): In theory the filter should be OK -- just make sure you install it with the inflow and outflow correct!

this is why I don't need the filter. Canton Mecca and -6an in the house :)

You probably could swap the filter into your friends car, but.. It's only a $20 part and rather important, I'd just buy a new filter.

Good advice if you ask me. I think I got my replacement from Autozone (purolator brand) for just under 15.

I used your instructions a few weeks ago to make the swap.. Had never changed a fuel filter, but the instructions helped a lot. The process was simple, and doing it myself was well worth the time and $$ savings. Don't want to dip into that shallow pool of mod money any more than I have to. :)
