I am thinking of getting some gauges and have done some reseach on the brand, type and prices. One of my main conern is that does any of them have red/orange light background? I've noticed most of the gauges are either indigo, green, blue..yellow even, but never seem or heard of the red/orange one.

Or is is possible to take the gauge apart and change the light color(put on a red bulb cover)? If so which gauge is the most flexible of doing so.

do a search in DU&S (dress up) for thtis ...there are many a threads about changing the color of the guages with bulb condoms...

I think VDO Vision gauges can be changed to red with supplied bulb covers.

I got the red omori gauges from Jspec.

Most mechanical gagues use a normal bulb you can put a condom on. Electronic gagues you can not. (easily)

Thanx for the info Jaypride. Well based on lots of people's opinion the electronic one seems to be the most popular choice. So there is no bulb to light up the background for those gauges? They all use LED? thanks

Not sure what they use, but its a pain to open them up a you risk destroying the gague.

i'm hooking up red autometer ones right as we speak..
