I have seen the same Forester XT twice. It is silver and has the cool hood scoop. Does anyone know who drives it? It was on State Street once and the other time it was at Discount tire...Pretty sweet little ride though.

That would be me. I've checked in at Discount a few times, twice to research tires and a third time to get them installed. And living in "greater" Utah county, I'm all over State Street.

Next time you see me, feel free to flag me down. Unless I'm late to work, I'll be happy to stop and chat. :)

Is that you in the caravan out at RMR???
That runs like 12.6 or something 2 weeks ago?? That was sick. My friend was sitting there saying how he hated all the slow cars racing. Then he goes see's to vans and is talking crap like my moms caravan could beat that one. And I laughed my a$$ of when you toasted his time.( if that is you)

I've seen probably 7-10 Turbo Foresters around town in the past week or so  They're pretty damn cool :D

Sure do. In fact, I own two right now but one was purchased as a pile of parts and it's not quite together yet. The running one is dark blue and is well known on the streets here. I run 19 psi every day in full street trim on pump premium.

There are now a total of four turbo minivans racing at RMR. I used to have a maroon one (Clifford) which I sold to a friend in West Valley City. He made many upgrades (T3/T4, new trans & converter, lots of dieting, etc) and currently holds the Utah Fastest Minivan title thanks to his one 14.2-sec run. Sadly, he won't be doing that anytime soon since he ruined his turbo's compressor blades. :(

As for me, my best this season was 14.47 (on DOT tires--I've never run full slicks). Depending on weather and traction, I typically run 14.6 or so. Utah has yet to see a minivan run faster than 14.2. Yet.

BTW--another friend made this video montage:

It's neat in that you see all four vans mentioned above. You also see the pass where he ran 14.2 verses one of my 14.6 passes, but I don't know if you can really see the times--cameraman was not at all steady. Fun stuff, though.

Of course. In fact, I run an entire website dedicated to these vans:

Like any true car freak, I have web pages for each of my vehicles:

Note to self: do not engage in races with minivans...

I've seen a video of a caravan with wood paneling TOASTING a Camaro, with a 1/4 mile time of 8-9 secs. vans sure do have the juevos!

rob, (still looking for a rim):furious:

Thanks. I have three more on my lot right now, so I could always hook you up if you were wanting something new.... ;)

And BTW: the odds are slim--I'm not exactly connected to the Subaru underground yet--but I'm keeping an eye out for one wheel for you. I'll let you know if I find one.

Close. Ford PowerStroke diesel. :D Now you know why I think the XT cooler is so dinky....

The XT cooler looks less tall the the WRX, maybe wider though? Smaller turbo, so maybe requires smaller intercooler?

The XT 'cooler is indeed wider, with a greater number of tubes. These tubes are shorter than the WRX tubes. The above facts combine to suggest the XT 'cooler offers substantially less backpressure than a WRX unit... until you realize the WRX tubes are a little thicker than the XT tubes. So I figure the XT flows at least as well as the WRX, perhaps even better.

I've been working with Turbonetics to see if they'd like to borrow my cooler and flow test it, pattern an upgrade after it, etc. So far they have not been the slightest bit interested. :(
