Hello,

I have a transmission problem in my 2.5RS. It is an automatic(no comments please) and it no longer engages at all in any forward gear. It is a 2000 with 28,500km on it, completely stock.

The new transmission was supposedly ordered on June 10. The trans completely failed on June 16. My car has been sitting behind the dealership for over a month now waiting for the parts to get in.
I don't want to get into the details here but I have been in contact with Head Office, the dealership owner, etc...bottom line is I still don't have my car.

If possible, can any of you Canadians contact your local dealer(s)and find out if any 2.5RS auto trans have been replaced in the last 2 months, and if so, how long did it take?
If you don't want to do this, can you post dealer telephone numbers here and I will contact them myself?

BTW, if you live in Thunder Bay, Ontario, I already know how long it takes here.

Thanks,
Stephen.

Thanks, I didn't think of that.

Unfortunately, the Canadian Subaru site doesn't seem to have a dealer locator, or I'm missing it, and I know the US and Canada have different supply networks.
Well, I'm pretty sure they are different as I doubt the US uses the Rebuild Centre in Toronto, which is where my trans is supposed to be coming from.

I will try searching the web for another directory.

Thanks.

Edit: I found it. It wasn't that hidden, I'm just dense.

Try the Toronto Subaru Club forums. There is a rather large Japanese
motor/transmission importer there, who's name I cannot remember
for the life of me (something like Japan Auto Imports). Anyhow, they
have a huge warehouse full of Japanese drivetrains. There are a few
TSC members that could help get you hooked up if you ask nice.

A little further away, but usually responsive are Lachute Subaru in
Lachute QC. Drop them an email or call. A lot of Ottawa/Montreal owners
go there.

Good Luck....Stu
