Does anyone know of a good brake bleed guide? All I currently have to go off is the Subaru service manual, which is far from verbose.

for something cheap and good, use valvoline synpower brake fluid

as for bleed order, for the wrx, it's:

RF
LR
LF
RR

Another Subaru enthusiast told me that DOT 4 gets dirtier quicker than DOT 3. Yes, we all know that DOT 4 has a higher boiling point, but be prepared to change it more often. Growing up, I never remembered being around many people who actually maintenance their brake fluid besides a top off. I guess Subaru owners are more meticulous with their cars than most. DOT4 fluids generally absorb water more quickly than DOT3.

Make sure you look at wet and dry boiling points for the fluid you buy - and don't choose one based on dry boil point alone.

get yourself some speed bleeder screw, i can bleed my brakes by myself in under 30 minutes

I was thinking about getting a one-man bleeder/vacuum pump. I'm not taking any brake lines apart so this isn't something of high priority at the moment. I've read about those speed bleeders and its good to see that they actually work pretty well.
