View Full Version : A proper jack stand

This is beginning to upset me. Most cars made today have a crimp weld or pinch weld under the doors that hold the frame together. At either end of this seam is typically the factory jack point or the scissor jack placement point to lift the car at. It happens to be an excellent place to hold the car's weight and is very safe since the jack can't slip out sideways from here. BUT! Nowhere can I find anybody that makes jack stands that are made to go here. ALL of them are the old pick-up truck "axel type" stands that will destroy that pinch weld if you place the stands there. So has anybody found a proper jack stand? I don't like the idea of using a pad on the stands.
