The first thing I thought when I read the subject was that your CV was failing. Inspect the CV boots throughly. If it's ripped, then the CV joint would fail eventually, thus the clicking noise.

Took it to a Subaru specialist in the area, after the dealer decided that they had no idea what it was, but it wasn't the CV joint.

After about a half an hour spent reproducing the sound and discussing it, their belief was that the brakes where making the noise. They applied some 'grease' and voila! no more noise.

Total cost: 1 case of Yeungling Lager.
