Hey there guys!
Just wondering if anyone knows if the dimensions/bends from the cat back is the same on the pipes of a '98 to '01 forester as well as hanger locations and stuff?

the exhuast layout from a '98 to a '01 is exactly the same. everything right down to the hangers regardless of the fact that the '98 was doc and '99 and up are soc!!!!

Yea, I think the first dude misunderstood the question. I believe the question is if the Forester exhaust pipe dimensions are the same as the Impreza RS.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the Forester ever saw the DOHC 2.5. I believe the '98 Forester was the first Subaru to use the new SOHC 2.5.

I hope this is true, because that gives me another year to choose from in my Forester project, but everything I have seen indicates the Forester followed the Impreza engine revisions.
98 - DOHC with MAF
99 - SOHC with MAF
00 - SOHC with MAP
01 - SOHC with MAP
Anyoine with a 98 want to confirm this?

confirming-'98 forester was a dohc, pulled up an old brochure at my dealership!
-also since i miss understood orginal question the answer is still yes if you are comparing forester to impreza exhuast layout, it is the same but hangers are located in different locations, as a matter of fact it is also the same as a legacy just for the records.

I can guarantee my '98 has the DOHC Phase I engine.
Easy way to tell? Higher redline.

Yep, 98 Forester = 2.5 DOHC w/wire MAF.
The Forester and Impreza RS have received the same engines and trannys at the same time, as far as I know.
