Is our engine a interference engine or a non-interference engine? Just wondering. I had a 60000 mile service done to my car today and the service manager mentioned to me that the timing belt does not need replacement until 105000 miles.

The 105k mile timing belt change is a federal specification adopted from California specifications and has nothing to do with the engine being an interference engine or not, but you have an interference engine :).
