I've seen instructions on how to do this but it was done on forester without the gauge pack. Is it much harder to do it with the gauge pack installed? Has anyone tried this? Is it easy? Any detailed instructions I can read up somewhere?

Thanks for your comments in advance.

I don't have the gauge pack on my Forester, but when I did the dual-cup holder mod, I did not remove the air vents or the dash-top storage compartment like the how-to's show. I should have, it would've been easier, but I didn't. It was a bass-ackwards way of doing it, but it worked. If you don't want to remove the gauge pack (isn't it just screws in the same spots as the stoarge compartment?) you could always try that...

If I remember correctly, removing the top console/gauge pack isn't necessary. It just makes it easier because you can see what you're doing.

The dual cupholder install is a little tricky. There's a third screw way in the back in the middle that's hard to get to.

Oh, I see. I'm glad to hear that it can be done without removing those. Do you know where I can order it? What is the part number for the dual cup holder?

Thanks in advance!

CLEE01,

Call Quality Subaru at 1(800)287-1281 and speak to Darlene. The part number is 66150FC1000E and the price (as of January, anyways) is $15.20 shipped. Can't beat that.

Bad news folks. Quality Subaru has been out of business for a few months now. Unfortuantley, that means no more rock-bottom part prices with great service.

How could that be? I just ordered a fuel filter and exhaust gaskets in March! If that is true, that sucks. I tried verifying your story (not that I doubt you) and the toll-free number just rings and rings. Of course it is after 5pm on a Friday. I wouldn't answer either. I'll have to double check next week.

In any case, if not QSubaru, try Troncali. Look up Sugar here on the board. I'm sure their prices will be close.

I hope QSubaru is still in business. $15.20 shipped is a very good price.

I'll call on Monday and let you guys know.

I talked to MAtt in Fl yesterday, and hesaid that people thought they were out of business because their homepage is kind of cheesy and hasn't been updated in quite some time. I ordered from them in Mid-March and they were in business. Had my parts in 3 days. They are very good to work with, so I too hope they are still in business.
