I'm going to be doing the swap and need to know if my fwd axles will work with my awd tranny my car is a 94 the awd tranny I'm getting is a 94. the awd swap doesn't include front axles because they were damaged soo Do i need awd front axles? or am I able to use my old ones. also does it matter if the axles are from a manual or auto?
thanks

Don't know the answer for sure, but I have some if you need them.

Axles _should_ work, regardless of transmission type. I haven't verified this, of course.

I know someone who used FWD axles on his AWD legacy. The FWD units are heavier though.

All of us are smarter than to buy a '93, though :p You just have the bastard child of all bastard children.

ok ok, I take it back. If I could have gotten the loan at the time, I'd be driving around in a '93 wagon :)

some FWD imprezas have lots of potential
When they have a welded front differential
With an ej20 swap it would be very special
I think the low weight gives it so much potential
With the amount of time spent, you better get a pre-nuptial
