View Full Version : Anyone run Turboxs stage 2+ at Bandi?
I got Turboxs stage 2+ Turboxs upipe and I was just wondering if anyone with the same or equivalent stages run at Bandimere? And what type of 1/4 mile times did you get. I'm just curious since I didnt get the chance to go to Bandimere last month to run. Let me know, thanks!

14.28@94.75 in mid 80deg temps. I think a time a little closer to 14.00 in cool weather is possible for my setup.

Wow, you got that time with the stock cat back. Thats awesome! I thought the stock cat back was pretty restrictive. I hope I can pull those times with my setup. Its all Turboxs except the axel back(scorpion/prodrive axel back). Good times justDSM!
Anyone else?
hotrod 07-23-2003, 02:28 AM I ran a 14.125 @ 97.2 with a 1.890 60' last year with a completely stock exhaust system, -- all stock headers, with pre-cat, stock turbo, all stock turbo-back.
EBC with torquechip II at 17 psi, high octane fuel and I've taken some weight out.

 SOME weight? AFAIK, Larry has the lightest WRX in the state (and probably quite a few other states). ;)
WRX Harvey 07-23-2003, 10:49 AM I ran a 13.504 with stock exhaust including downpipe. Caution, I now have a small crack near my wastegate flap on the turbo housing due to thermal loading. But I did that. It was a vishnu stage 2 minus exhaust, very similar to a TXS4 minus exhaust.

JustDSM 07-23-2003, 01:01 PM Thanks for the kind comments on my times. Looks like Hotrod has me WHOOPED! :) Good job Larry!
I was full weight (3100lbs) w/ good ole piss water 91 Octane. I'm positive w/ some race fuel and cooler temps I could have done a 13.9X. I was seriously restricted in the ammount of advance I could run.

Your doing very well, with some high octane and the ability to tune with the Utec you will be able to knock quite a bit off that as you get it tweaked.
Your actual race weight was probably pretty close to 3300 lbs with you and the fuel so I have a significant advantage on the weight side. I scaled at 3085 with driver and the fuel when I ran that.

Okay I confess, several hundred pounds out.

Jeez Larry! What have you taken out?! :) Your figure is probably within a few pounds of being spot on. I'm about 180lbs and I had close to 1/2 tank of fuel.

He took out his engine. Boy can that guy run!

I've just taken out bolt on stuff to this point with the exception of scraping the sound deadner everything can go back to stock if I wanted to.
I still have a stock weight battery, the stock front seats, stock weight flywheel, and pulleys etc.
If I wanted to throw some money at it I could easily whack off another 100+ lbs.
Last time I weighed it , I scaled at 2980 with me in the car and half a tank of fuel.
I expect in time to get down to the mid 2800's
I've just applied the racers axiom "The best way to lose 100 lbs off a car is to find 1600 ways to remove one ounce"

JustDSM 07-23-2003, 04:53 PM Good stuff Larry. I don't know your goals/plans, but it sounds like your on to something :) Back in my DSM days and even before that I was doing the same thing. Nothing but a dash, steering wheel and drivers seat remained in my old '93 Ford Probe GT. (no laughing!)
If the WRX was paid off and I had a nice comfortable car to drive on trips, I'd be pulling weight from mine as well. The car is already just too bloody expensive for me to rip into it.
On a side note, who (is it you Larry?) has the fastest stock turbo'd WRX in RMIC (thats run around 5800ft elevation)?
hotrod 07-23-2003, 04:59 PM I think that title would go to moorewrx he ran a 13.6 something IIRC on the stock turbo, with all the exhaust upgrades (up pipe, down pipe, unichip CAI etc)
I expect to run the same kind of times some time this year but have not to date.
The changes I made over the winter bit me, I had a loose Y pipe at the Import Sport Compact Challange (it blew off the next day) and I couldn't hold my normal 17+ psi boost. I was only running mid 14's.
