Does anyone know of a mfg of the 9006 (12v 51W) light bulbs used in the forester fog lamps that puts out an amber beam? I have been looking and the only one I could find is from APC. I hear of a mfg called D.I., however I have not been able to find any info on this company. Has anyone had any experience with APC? Thank You

Sorry, no idea.
Why don't you call Susquehana Motorsports and ask them what they have that might fit?

Try Autolamps-Online:

They carry the Philips WeatherVision line of bulbs in 9006. I've bought my Philips Vision Plus H4s from them - excellent bulb upgrades.

I thought I saw some yellow ones on the http://www.autobulbdepot.com website. The wattage was higher than 55W. I don't know how this would affect the fog light performance. My guess is that they're too bright. If you get these let us know how you like them.

Hey Ken took your advise and purchased the Phillips All Weather bulbs. K-Mart of all places had them. When I put them on I was a bit dissapointed due to the lack of amber color they had (wasn't the look I was going for). However thier performance as a fog lamp works very well. Anyhow I decided to swap my head lamps for some Piaa Super Plasma bulbs and what do ya know the fog lamps look amber now. I was amazed how poor the stock head lamps were.

Didn't realize K-Mart stocked Philips products. So are the Philips brighter? Have you tried them in fog?
The stock bulbs aren't bad, but there are better choices out there.
Here's a comparison photo I took of the the Philips Vision Plus (left) vs. stock (right). The actual difference is a lot more noticeable than what my digital camera's CCD captured.

Not in fog, however we a few days of really bad rain up here in Cleveland. Much much better then the stock lamps. I also love my PIAA super Plasma bulbs. The low beam is about 25 to 30 percent brighter and the high beam is outstanding.
