hey everyone, check this out. this is how my cars going to sound once my warranty is gone and i have a second car. i'm going to do this along with a turbo swap.
and yes, i'm serious about this mod:D :devil:

I like i like, except for the crackling sound every once and awhile (which im guessing is caused by the quality of the camera) I've heard about anti-lag before but never really asked, what is it? what does it do? And what exactly is this setup?

its a system that, rally cars use to keep the turbo spooled up even when they take their foot off the gas. they set up the cars ECU to retard timing so that extra fuel will go through the engine un-ignited so that it will pass through the exhaust manifold and get ignited there. the explosion in the manifold will cause the turbo to spool. this system really affects driveability, but you can switch this system on or off.

Kris, a little paranoid? LoL. It's actually a movie of a WRX, probably the porn site owner's WRX, muahaha. Mike, constant spool wouldnt cause any problems would it? Sounds pretty risky, also I'm guessing it guzzles a wee bit more gas, right?

It's not good for the turbo, I think. I don't know how much life it would take off it.

The Evo VI had anti-lag from the factory, this was so Mitsu could have it on there Group N rally car. :banana:

It probably isn't good for the cats either. How much does that mod cost?

this is a bad i dea i am willing to bet. it sounds to me alot like the utec's launch control in some ways. but this is going to kill your gas bill, make your car run like **** at anything less then wide open throttle, kill your turbo, and do some serious tranny/engine damage......launching your car at full boost!? bye bye tranny... and just like the utec launch control without a built motor you are gonna hurt somethings....... this is just my opinion from what i have learned.

really loud, really, loud. can't mis that car coming the down the highway. pretty cool that you can really hear the boxer lope sound when it idled. constant spool(i don't get it) it would have keep the engine at a high rev for the turbo to spool, sounds like you are creating alot of heat the enemy of boost creator of detonation, even with the suby's setup of the exhaust manifold being so far from the turbo, it still sounds like the constant spooling would be to much for the stock internals. but wicked sound scare any comp away!!!!!!!!:devil: it's like what my master always say(obe 1 kato) use the force right and the force will be good damm good.

Bad idea if you have any cats or want your turbo to last. Keep in mind the rally guys run a turbo for two to three races tops and the good guys are changing them every race.

it would be cool to have that system at the track--- save about 1 tenth maybe 2 in the 1/4... as long as it was switchable

once i'm done with mechanics school is when i'll give this a try. hopefully by then, i'll have my truck and the wrx will be a real project car.
