I was just wandering by and noticed someone

roots. I have a 92 SVX and my wife has a 95
Impreza. I'm not abandoning Yahoo, but they
do get into shouting at each other a lot.

Yeah, I ran into her on SR-500 a while back, and I love the purple. Things have been good, just a little crazy. Glad to see you around too. Any chance we'll get rodenji on here?

I am the former billsSVX on yahoo, and when I registered here, it let me have the name. They E-mailed my password, and when I went to log on, I was rejected. I looked on the members list, and they had given the name to someone else the same day!!!! Go figure!!

Both user name and password are case sensitive. See if that helps.

I'm from Yahoo! also, although I'm not giving up on it yet. I suppose after getting used to the format I'll enjoy it more.

From yahoo. didn't like the lack of threading or searching, but staying on there and here now.

I've been on this board for about a year as I own 2 Legacy's. I added a SVX last month and don't care for Yahoo's format. This is much more usable and user friendly. Hopefully everyone gives it a try and makes the move!

As a SVX AND Legacy owner, I like the "all Subaru" feel of the site.

I agree with you guys. I'm still reading most of the Yahoo posts also. However, it gets frustrating when there's a 12 hour lag before you can read the current messages.

Admittedly though, since my Legacy has got the 2.5 engine with a 5 speed, a lot of the technical stuff for the Impreza pertains to my Legacy also.

I like having you SVX guys here. I consider you all my friends, and it will be easier to keep in contact here.

Rich, I'm not sure what you mean about the 12 hour time lag on the Yahoo! SVX site. I'm able to read the posts as soon as they are posted. There are instances during Message 40 outbreaks that throw you back a few hours but it is temporary http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/rolleyes.gif

Yeah, that's what I meant. It was screwing up real bad last week. Sometimes I'd get the message 40 deal, and sometimes it would show me messages that were 12 hours old whenever I tried to view the messages. It's been better this week.

You know, this place could be a blast if more of the Yahoo gang would cross over. I don't think, however, anyone advocated abandoning Yahoo. And apparently there was maybe some miscommunications and maybe some feelings got hurt. I still frequent both places, but I too am addicted to the order, search engine, and groupings over here. I agree... the yahoo club has the most content at the moment, but I'd like to see things pick up around here

check out the regional forums people.. although it will be mostly impreza related stuff, the "i" club is open to all subaru's. Some sections, like the NW area are particularly active.

Yeah, you guys up in the Great NW (and NE also) have it made. Lots of Subaru enthusiasts up your way. I'm here in Mustang/Pickup country, with a bit of import activity, mostly Honda.

I've looked into different regions, but they're mostly too far away from me to really get into. Although someone is begging for a TX-OK-KS type region, possibly Mid-South, in the General Forum. I'd go for that. I'd like to get to know some of the other Subaru guys down this way.

Just because Subaru has kind of abandoned the SVX, doesn't mean that the Impreza and Legacy owners don't like them (well, not all of them anyway). I bet if some SVX's started showing up at some of the get-togethers they'd enjoy it. A Subie enthusiast will appreciate a nice SVX.

On the topic of Yahoo. Maybe I'm just being more selective in what I read over there now (I used to read everything), but their activity level seems to be a little lower than what it was. Maybe people are just busier since it's summertime now.

Greetings all....this is my official hello!

I used to frequent Yahoo a lot but it seems to be losing some of its focus....and the amount of non-SVX stuff is getting a bit much.

This setup is much better and one I am used to using (www.autospeed.com) but given that we only have a sub-thread, it'll be a little bit harder to divide into areas (like general, technical, parts for sale etc etc etc).

Change your password through the user setup section... go to "members" (underneath bulletin board button) and then "select edit/update user info"

And don't forget to install your transmission cooler.

Actually, I used to live a bit north of you in Wichita, KS. I tracked down every SVX I could find there to ask about buying, but only one guy was interested... and his car was.. shall we say, a little worse for the wear. "why's the rear bumper a touch different shade, you said no accidents" "ohh yeah, that, that was hail damage" "on the bumper?" "yeah"

so I didn't end up getting one util I moved up here.. one of the cool things about owning a SVX in the midwest is that subarus themselves are a rarity there.. let alone the SVX. Here in portland there are quite a few around.. which is nice, but it also means people are used to seeing them. back in KS people stare at the SVX like it's a purple unicorn in the middle of the road.
