Today I put my V5 seats and CUSCO front strut bar onto my 4e*. The car feels totally different now. The bar seems to help a lot with the turn recovery. The car doesn't do that wild side-to-side swing after taking a turn agressively. The seats sit lower that the stock ones, but it feels better sitting lower. Oh yeah, I also go that AERO grill from Challenger Deep. It looks good, but the chrome has to go. I am paining it shortly. I will post some pics tommorow. Looks good though.

Looking forward to the pix. It's always so tempting with the F to go one way or the other - "pimp out" for the street or go off the off-road deep end. Slam it or lift it? Aero kits and 17" P1s or lift kits, bull bars and metal skid plates? Ahh, the dilemmas...

my forester already has the front strut tower bar from cusco as well as the rear strut and the rear 22mm sway bar from cusco, if your happy with what you have now then your gonna be extremely pleased with the rest of it. currently right now my suspension is being run with the agx struts that are made for the impreza as well as the 5zigen springs for the impreza and i must say it rides very well, although i've yet to change the rims and tires its a pretty damn good ride. i will post pics very soon guys!!

If you find the shifter a bit tall now, consider a short-shift lever. I have the SPT, but it's not worth the $200 for the full kit because it still has rubber bushings. Change just the lever instead (Kartboy or Cobb), and then consider urethane bushings. That'll save you cash.

Rear tower bar, or sway? Guess if you do the shock towers you'll have the bar through the cargo area, which cuts back on the utility slightly. Uunless it's removable, is it?

I have the rear sway bar from SPT, 18mm.

Personally I don't want to add anything to lower the existing ride height of my Forester; Pennsylvania roads must be among the worst in the US and I do drive a significant amount on gravelly, potholey (dunno if that's a word) river valley roads. Those pix and the ones in the Gallery get my mind running, though.


When I was in the UK last fall I saw and picked up a brochure for a Prodrive-modified Forester available through Subaru dealers that was fitted with 17" anthracite wheels - not P1s but very similar. Since then I've been taken with the idea of putting 17" P1s with summer rubber on my F and, once the Geolandars wear out, putting 16" Michelin Arctic Alpins on the S alloys for winter driving. I've gotten feedback from several people that there's not much benefit to be gained from that route given the F's suspension geometry and my driving habits. The better route would likely be to keep Geolandars on the S alloys, pick up some 15" L steelies from an L owner and shoe them with the Arctic Alpins for winter.


Still, I think an anthracite wheel on the pre-'01 S models would look nice with the slate painted cladding; a couple of pix in the Gallery confirm that. If anyone is proficient in Phototshop I'd love to see P1s Photoshopped onto a Forester S.
