On Motorvision tonight on Speedvision a German show I think. They had a short test of a beautiful silver Forester S turbo. It looked like a US S+ with a hood scoop, black mesh grille, rear foglight in bumper, US Forester S style wheels & armrests on the front seats. They said it was powered by a 2.0 turbo. They liked it a lot. The top speed was 122mph! Now that's fast in a Forester. I want one.

they we're comparing awd/4wd station wagons. Nice to see the forester being compared with the likes of bmw and audi.

Yep, that sounds like the European-spec turbo Forester alright. CAR magazine in the UK often compares the Forester to more expensive wagons all the time. Too bad they don't bring that stateside.

Those are sweet. They make only 168hp, but the torque is very good and they make it down low, so it blows our 2.5l away.

It's a 2.0l, so I'd like to see either that engine or the WRX engine offered here in US Foresters.

The H6 would be OK, but it's made in the USA, and the Forester is built in Japan.

well your wish might come true as subaru is talking about offering limited edition forester with the 2.5 motor supercharged but from what i have heard its only going to be 195hp unlike what the stx which had the same setup with 240hp??????

I certainly hope so. I'll take any engine options. Other markets have been enjoying more power all along.

Subaru needs to. Back in '98, 165hp was the 2nd highest power in the class (and the Cherokee was a gas guzzler by comparison anyway). Now a lot offer more power - Nissan will have a supercharged XTerra, plus the Escape, Santa Fe, Tribute, etc.

2.5l S/C, 2.0l turbo, 3.0l H6, ... I don't car. Just give us something!
