2003 WRX 5spd. When accelerating from a start and sometimes while moving, it sounds as if there is a metal coat hanger banging around inside my rear drivers side door. Any ideas?

My guess would possibly be something slightly loose with the seatbelt or babyseat assemblies. Try changing the height on your rear drivers' side seatbelt guide, and see if the sound changes. It worked for me :) Robmat 07-26-2003, 02:41 PM I have had a rattle in my RS for about two years now. I searched everything and could not figure out where it was coming from. I found several other things that I fixed or tweaked but still have not found the cause for the initial rattle. I just deal with it now:rolleyes: Good luck gpd323 07-28-2003, 02:28 PM Originally posted by jroberts 2003 WRX 5spd. I had a clunking sound from my drivers door and it was 7 loose bolts inside the door panel. All 4 bolts that hold the window motor to the inside metal door panel were loose and 2 were ready to fall out. The other 3 bolts were associated with the window regulator. Reason I went ahead and pulled the door panels off myself is some WRX owners were posting about how the loose bolts had damaged the door panel! The torque of the window motor pulled the loose bolts right thru the inside door panel mounting points. I used loctite on all the bolts. Maybe the sound is loose bolts?? Good luck, Greg Downing |
