An update on my installation of a used Impreza Brospeed muffler.
It is the one Subaru sells and while not sold for the Forester, it does fit /kind of.
It is about 1-2" shorter than I would have wanted but does make it back under the aft brace. No cutting/welding but did have to lower it about 1" to preclude a potential heat problem on the bumper. I did this with some larger rubber donuts at the stock hanger positions(read 3" center to center).

Plan on about 30 minutes to install plus a few bucks for the new rubber donuts. All in all easy with good results.

This completes my planned mods:air intake/muffler/strut brace/rear sway bar. All thats left is some better rubber when the weather breaks here in snow country,

Final word is exhaust is marginally noisier than stock only at low RPMs under load. Intake is the noise at WOT. It suits me as I did not want a LOUD or DROONEY exhaust.

Juice-don't know for sure but since the pipe is bent alittle different and hangs about 1"lower-I suspect it would.

JC Sports sells a cat-back 2.5" exhaust for the Forester

All my mods are JC Sports and originally I had a JC Sports muffler. Way too loud for me. My Forester is a daily driver and while I am into moding all my vehicles, I have a need for some quiet performance.

I add that I also have a Chevy V8 powered Suzuki Samurai that really fills my need for noise and speed.

I bet you're the first person to say they have a Suzuki Samurai to fufil their need for speed. Do have pics? Of the Subie or the Samurai.

While I do have pics of both the Forester and the Sammy- I am not set up nor do I have access to a means to show them . Alas maybe if I get into this computer thing or spring for a digital camera.
