I was just at my dealer and the sales mgr. was telling me that starting next year Soob will offer the Forester Turbo EJ20 SUV over here in the State. Have any of you heard this rumor or was he just smoking crack.

He's probably right. The question is, when?

Next year probably does not mean next model year. The 2002s likely won't get any changes, except for more standard equipment. Freight is going up $30 but prices will stay flat (very nice, actually).

So the turbo will probably come next calendar year, as in model year 2003, probably in the summer or fall. I suspect they'll show it at next year's round of auto shows.

Can't wait.

the rep in the booth at the cleveland auto show, (they had a blue WRX sedan there), said he thought 2004 for a turbo forester, BUT not the 2.0 version as in the WRX. He made me belive it would be a 2.5 turbo.

That's odd. Maybe GM will force Subaru to move Forester production to the US. That engine is supposed to go in the ST-X and Legacy as well (both US-made).

The 2.0l turbo is made right there in Japan, where the Forester is made, so why not use that?

alright guys here is how its working with subaru!! to in the interest of everyone soa is working on a six month intro for new product. first it was the brush up on the my'01 forester, next was the intro of the h-6 in the outback wagons, now we have the wrx, in the upcoming six months we will have the h-6 in legacy gt's and outback sedans, then after that the stx pick-up, and after that....as far as i know there is to be the return of the svx as a two door wrx, then another six months you might see that forester,it will be a ej20 but with only 195hp??? don't ask i'am just as confused as everyone else!! my pics are coming soon!!!
