Just a quick newb tuning question. What would be the best AFR to tune for in general? If 14.6:1 is stoich then should you aim for that irrespective of throttle position or engine speed? The type of tune I'm talking about would be midway between agressive and daily driver. Thanks.

Um, yeah, that's not a very good idea :) Turbo cars are going to need to run a fair bit richer than that for maximum power and richer still for maximum safety. 10.5-11:1 is a better place to start... You can run leaner with higher octane, but on boost keep it in the 10-12:1 range for best reliability. You car will try to run 14.7:1 when it's using the 02 sensor for feedback, which is best for cruising, but is unsafe when you're making real power. Even N/A cars generally run 13.5:1 under load.

Alright, cool. I'm not going to be tuning anything soon, I'm just more curious than a pack of cats. If you got any links or documents on tuning for AFR lemme know.
Thanks.

 thank god you asked here first..
Besides that, how will you know what AFR you are running at? Do you own a wideband tuning apparatus? If you go to a respectable AWD dyno, they should have guys on hand to tune your car or at least help you out. They will have a sniffer that can tell you the a/f ratio.

No, unfortunately I wont have access to a wideband unit. But I'm also not doing tuning so its all good :D
