View Full Version : Track Times
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 01:58 AM Hey wassup guys just posting to show you what $435 got me :) I don't have the old slip but the best time i got stock was 14.989 but here is what i got with my uppipe / intake.
Reaction - .918
60 ft. - 2.110
330 ft. - 5.932
ET @ 594 FT - 8.579
1/8 ET - 9.164
1/8 MPH - 76.91
1/4 ET - 14.318
1/4 MPH - 94.18
I'd say that's not bad, going from a 989 to 318...oh and btw i raced a 88 5.0L Mustang on that run and beat him, he got a 14.941, oh also the Neon SRT-4 was out there...the only time i saw off him was a 15.5xx. I'm trying to earn up some money to get the EMI, im about $50 shy...if anyone out there knows where i can get a deal on the Vishnu EMI please note me...also I was wondering if tomorrow anyone would want to temporarily donate their boost gauge so we can install / tune my TXS DS MBC...if not then darn...lol. I'm hoping the MBC + EMI will bring me down to mid - high 13's.
Need Money 07-27-2003, 05:21 AM Money well spent, huh. Great job on your new time. Sorry can't help you out with the boost gauge. Keep up the good work.

not bad man, but im thinking you should be able to click off faster 60fts with that awd...arent most of you guys pulling off sub 2's?
KapaFool 07-27-2003, 03:53 PM With a little more practice you should be below 2's on the 60ft.

Yeh I'm a newcomer to AWD :) Also, I was wondering if you guys just went from 1st - 5th Gear straight on or if you double clutched, etc. Because I just go 1 2 3 4...havent gotten to 5 yet haha...it's because not only is this my first AWD, but its also my first MANUAL :) well I figure I don't need a boost gauge, I'm going on shortfuses, johns, etc. advice and doing it by setting the MBC at 0 and then moving it at increments of two counter-clockwise until its up to the desired psi...
JordyB 07-27-2003, 07:43 PM Umm, sure....you dont alway use all the gears if your not going fast enough...I dont leave 3rd in my wagon because it is soooo slow.
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 07:48 PM I know that :P I was always about halfway through the band in 4th with my ol' Tibby.

You mean 1-5 on the track? no, you shouldn't shift into fourth either before you cross the line, just keep it in third.
Stock, I pulled off four 14.7's, each with a 2.0xx 60ft.

Really?! I'm usually in high rpm's in 4th...I'm sure I'd redline if I stay in 3rd?
 Are you sure you don't mean 3rd? 94 MPH would be near the top of 3rd. You shouldn't need to shift to 4th till you start trapping a little faster(I shift to 4th only a few hundred yards before, trapping 104).
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 10:33 PM Hmmm...i must be doing something wrong...i dunno, well, maybe someone who gets good times can test drive my car on August 9th at the track...any volunteers? No clutch dropping please :(
rex02 07-27-2003, 10:39 PM i got you man!
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 10:54 PM Be gentle!
rex02 07-27-2003, 10:56 PM i only know one way to drive man
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 11:00 PM Hehe "You break it, you buy it" :)

i would be doing you the favor.......volunteering.....:furious:
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 11:04 PM Hey if you volunteered your car to me (even though it'd never happen) I'd decline only because I don't think your car would be for the better afterwards...all im saying is dont make my clutch a toothless hooker ;P
rex02 07-27-2003, 11:06 PM haha i'm just playin man.. all i am sayin is that i can drop that time for you.... how are you launching your car?
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 11:20 PM Slipping off of 5000...then just shifting about ~100 away from redline.
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 11:23 PM I guess I should mention that my 60' was NEVER under 2.1...so i think it's something im doing in the beginning, my lowest 60' was actually a 2.165 and that was 14.595 1/4, with a trap of 92.02.
rex02 07-27-2003, 11:25 PM i'll show you a way cool way to launch your car next time i see you..... just remind me
9o7wRx7o9 07-27-2003, 11:26 PM If i can get my boost gauge / triple a-pillar then you may even be able to play with it with my ds mbc installed.

ouch
i hit fourth 50-100 yards before the finish line after i redline third.. the faster your car is the more gears you use--- yours should be tapping the limiter just before you cross the finish line
i'll drive it for you next time-- my car pulls 1.8 60 foots, slipping at 5500rpms
Code-7 07-28-2003, 04:49 PM Yeah redline is coming up really fast just as I hit the finish. I imagine if my car were faster and not stock I'd be shifting into fourth. :)
garmin 07-28-2003, 04:53 PM haha.. it sounds like you're driving the car to its potential... after i had put just the exhaust on it, if my launch sucked & i shifted slow i would almost make it to the finish in third... but now there's no way to hold third
