This is just a quick thought, any input is cool. I am looking at buying a 99 2.5RS with 113k miles and it was used as a fleet vehicle. Would it be dumb to maybe swap out the engine for a less mile ej25 motor? I havent even looked at prices on an ej25 and stuff. SO input....
Personally, I think that motor is fine. I'd just make sure that because its a fleet vehicle, ask to see service records. As long as the main services have been performed and timing belt changed, you shouldn't have any problems with the car as is.
4 out of my 6 Subarus have been sold with more than 200k on their motors without burning oil or any major mechanical issue.

Its not that dumb of an idea. Its not a hard job to do since you just have to unplug everything, drop in the motor and re plug everything, plus you could sell your old engine and make some money back.

ya Its not that hard...
unless the only tool you know how to use is the one in your pants.:D
Its a lot of work... and having a shop do it doesnt make much sense, for the cost you might as well find a used ej20.
