Fitting kit - Stand alone method to installing a gauge.

The three items are basically accessories. You do not need both the gauge pod and a fitting kit. You do need either of the gauge packages, and than a way to mount them. The way you want to mount them is really your choice.

And to those wondering if the defi tripple gauge pod fits STi and '04 WRX, the answer to that question is yes.

Also on a side note, the tripple gauge pod comes unpainted.

RichQY - the image you probably are referring too is of the indicator light. The BF series gauges are black faced, and light up white with a red needle. The gauge on that picture is of a different series. Sorry if it mislead you.

I've have seen other Defi group buys drag on for a few months, with the gauges stuck on a slow boat or in customs (Yeah, right!).

Those who participate in this group buy will be reaching their gauges within ONE week of submitting their payment. Two weeks at the most, but we are guranteeing 1 week.

(as a noob) me no understand the metric...like boost egt and oil temp...what is ideal? ( obvioulsy they will differ from time to time..but i think ya get my drift..((lets say upon start up))

Are those the only packages of gauges? Would it be possible to get oil temp, pressure, and water temp? If so, what is the cost?

thisisbrock - basically Defi created two types of gauges. Metric and Imperial. The Imperial system is the US version, it measures boost using PSI, temps in Fahrenheit while the Metric measures boost in kPa and temps in Celsius. Hope this answered your question if not, explain ur question a little bit more and Ill answer it.

If you dont see a package you like on here, you can always create your own package.

Triple S - your package totals as follows: Oil Temp $170 Oil Pressure $230 and Water Temp $170. You also need the control unit which is $100. So your total is $670 + $15 for shipping.

Can the link display work without the gauges? Say I only had a boost gauge. Would the link display still be able to read the other functions that are on it or is the gauges required for the link display to work?

SubawuWRX - if you purchase just the Link display and boost gauge, you still need a control unit. And to answer your question, no other functions will not show up, but you do not have to purchase the gauges. You can purchase sensors themselves and connect them to the control unit.

The link display isnt really necessary but what it does is gives you a display of your gauges on a screen. I would say it is useful if you want to use just sensors and not the gauges themselves.

Sophocles - oil pressure and oil temp. sensors mount in a single sandwich type sensor attachment. And yes, Defi does make a gauge that goes up to 34 PSI, it is from the D series gauges and it is also a mechanical gauge.

Is this an option for the GB? I would really like the control unit, display, and sensors only. I was told that for whatever reason, the display doesn't show manifold pressure. Is that correct?

So that would be sensors for EGT, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Water Temp, and Fuel pressure (plus whatever it takes to read differential pressure...I'm assuming it would require manifold pressure sensor). What would the price be for that setup?
