Just recieved our 2nd batch of SOHC Valve Springs and 1st batch of DOHC Valve Springs.

The Valvesprings are good for over 10,000rpm operation. Perfect for Turbo and N/A applications. Will work with all N/A cams, and will help prevent valve float for turbo apps. These are direct bolt on! No modifications are necessary for installation.

Each (SOHC) spring weighs in ~5 grams less then the stock spring, made of high tensile Silicon/Chromium wire. (The DOHC springs are ~6grams less then stock)

Each SOHC Ti retainer weighs in @ 4.5 grams less then the stock retainer. The DOHC Ti retainers weigh in @ 4.7 grams less then stock.

(16) SOHC or DOHC EJ25 High Lift/High RPM Valve Springs: $199US + shipping ($249US + shipping MSRP)

(16) Matching SOHC or DOHC Ti Valve Spring Retainers: $199US + shipping ($249US + shipping MSRP)

(16 springs, 16 retainers) Spring & Retainer Package: $395US + shipping (MSRP: $489US+shipping)

EJ25 DOHC Shim Under Bucket conversion kit (includes 16 DOHC valvesprings, 16 DOHC Ti retainers, 16 buckets and required shims) saves a little over 17 grams/valve in valvetrain mass: $1499US + shipping (MSRP: $1699US + shipping)

Do the SOHC valve springs require the TI retainers? Are the springs the same size as the stock ones, allowing stock retainers to work?

Also, do you have a SOHC cam that would work for NA or turbo... like a "mild" version?

jeffg - no the SOHC springs do not require the Ti retainers to work. However if you'r replacing the valve springs, might as well do the retainers @ the same time to save labor. You do reduce quite a bit of valvetrain mass by switching both.

The stage 2 SOHC is suitable for both turbo & N/A, however it is more catered to N/A use. We're currently working on a slightly milder version, something closer to the Cobb "Spicy" cams.

Do these fit or are there any that fit on a 2.2 N/A from a 99 Impreza?

Do you have the SOHC cams in stock or we have to ship first the core and wait some days meanwhile you do the actual cams???

C17LOAD - if your SOHC EJ22 is a phase 2, then they should work. Your stock ECU won't be able to run them though as they're VERY radical vs your stock EJ22 cams. Valvetrain should be the same on Phase 2 SOHC motors.

AntonioS - Currently there's a few sets of SOHC cams which are under going the production process. So there should be 2 sets left over for core exchanges.

If you require headwork, the easiest thing to do is to either send your heads in so that we can do all the assembly work on it, and send you back a complete read to bolt on head.

For those of you who have a set of spare cams laying around, if you can send them to us by the end of this week, we can have them ready to ship back to you in ~ 7 business days.

Email us if you'd like to get your own set of cams re-done -> info@ionperformance.com

How long do you give the custumer to return the core cams?
What is the usual time from order to shipment when cores are not provided prior? I'm trying to figure out my schedule.

Marcin - for the turn-around time, we generally allow a 2 week period from the time the cams arrive at your door-step, till the time we recieve a tracking #.

We have a batch coming back this afternoon, and 1 set of SOHC cams are un-spoken for right now. So if you wanted, you could get these, and we can ship them out by early next week (note there's labor day).

Please do note that the SOHC cams will require the uprated springs for optimal use. We have these in stock and ready to go.

If you want to pick up the whole package together, shipping ofcourse will be less.

We can also provide return shipping of the cams on our DHL account which will decrease hassles of returning the core on your end.

Feel free to shoot us an email -> info@ionperformance.com

This looks identical to what is on TWE's website. Are they the same cams?

Are these still available these days or is twe and cobb the only provider now?

iON Performance Inc

Joncas - Yup these are still available. However prices are slightly higher due to the relative decline in the USD compared to the time when this thread was posted.

chibby goku - the cams are not welded like the COBB units. The base circles of the lobes are machined. So the metalergy isn't affected by the heat etc from welding.

foolio[ - Yup :) Check your PM's and email :)
