G-force 08-22-2003, 02:08 AM i'm assuming this is for the '02-03 WRX?
speedmonkee 08-22-2003, 10:15 PM Hi. This will fit all WRX's. 02/03/04 all share the same mounting points - so this will fit all MY from 02 onward.
we have 5 in stock right now.
Speedmonkee.com
gooter80 08-23-2003, 03:22 PM i may be mistaken but dont the 03's have a rad cap on the rad itself? i know the fluidyne only fits the 02.
speedmonkee 08-23-2003, 08:36 PM gooter80,
03 was redesigned for the stock model and they added an extra cap on the rad itself on later 03 cars. With all of the aftermarket Rads, you use your stock rad fill reservoir (near the turbo). There is no need for one on the rad itself with this radiator. Stock one is sufficient.
This was designed on my 03 wrx and we have several out there already on 02 and 04 customer cars.

Jeremy
ShadowIMg 10-08-2003, 03:57 PM How would this work on an RS? I'm not sure the radiator fill system you describe is the same. (2003 RS, btw, same body style). Would think the radiator cap would be necessary, is the WRX different in this sense?
speedmonkee 10-08-2003, 04:00 PM the shroud only works on the RS 02-04. Not the radiator.
Pic of it is above. RS mounted. Sorry for the confusion.
Jeremy

speedmonkee 11-13-2003, 07:43 PM GForced, time to buy now. Pricing is going up. I am now selling these at other premium vendors and can no longer offer the great price of $425 much longer. Last 3 in stock at this price. After they are gone, we are back to MSRP $475 shipped.
Thanks to all who have supported Speedmonkee so far!
Just to let you know, we will be shortly offering a matching overflow can with our radiator. As soon as I can get my car fitted, we will begin production of the can in matching polished aluminum.
Jeremy

Moondongle 01-28-2004, 11:54 PM Do you have any radiators left?
speedmonkee 01-29-2004, 12:50 AM Next batch of 5 is coming out in 2 weeks. I just sold the last 5.
I'll let you know as soon as we have stock.
thanks for the interest,
Jeremy
Moondongle 01-29-2004, 01:49 AM Great! Thanks.
sem23tex 01-29-2004, 11:31 AM PM me when new stock comes in.
Thanks!
speedmonkee 01-29-2004, 01:11 PM Will do!
okiedude 01-29-2004, 09:34 PM Jeremy, slightly off-subject. Will your new "chimney" style turbo heatshield work with a V.1 TXS Hyperflow TMIC? Your website says your standard heatshield will, but no comment about the new style. Let me know.
Thanks, OKD:D
speedmonkee 01-30-2004, 12:14 PM okiedude,
To be honest we don't know if it will fit. Most likely it won't b/c of the wideness of the TXS. It (chimney) was designed for people with the stock IC(majority of our users). We are in the process of designing our own IC - that will fit our chimney. But that will take some time.
Jeremy
Jeremy,
Slightly off topic from me too..Are you still selling the standard heat shields? Will they fit around Stromung downpipe? Please send me a PM on the price shipped to 47006.
Thanks
Shrish
Julio 01-30-2004, 04:30 PM Jeremy: Any photos of the overflow can installed? Price?
Radiator should fit into an STi right?
speedmonkee 01-30-2004, 04:40 PM Julio,
We just received the model for the can. we are in the process of designing it. The STI uses the exact same rad as the WRX - so it will drop in fine. No pricing - still too early.
As soon as the prototype is done, we will post pics. Should be about 2 weeks or so.
Jeremy
speedmonkee 01-30-2004, 04:41 PM Rane.
Our heatshields will fit all DP configurations - including the 4" widemouth TXS without any issues.
Jeremy
speedmonkee 02-09-2004, 01:18 PM The next batch of 10 rads will be available on Feb 17th.
If you are waiting for one, please contact me and I will arrange to have them shipped directly from manufacturing.

speedmonkee 03-14-2004, 09:33 PM We are still working on the overflow tank - more like juggling projects right now....
So, no update to report on it.
Steve, you've got a PM.
Jeremy
speedmonkee 03-21-2004, 11:41 AM Overflow can is finally in the works. I met with my engineering guy this weekend and he's finally gotten time to work on it. Should take about week to get 5 built - for those of you who need it for the upcoming IAS shows. Worst scenario - these would be overnighted to you. No pics yet - he was in the drafting stage.
New development - people are requesting for temp probe mounts on our rads. So, we will be adding these to all future rads ( next 5 are due in 2 weeks.) If you need your rad with one, let me know and that will be added to your order. Cost is about 25 more for material and labour.
Thats it for now.
Jeremy
Julio 03-21-2004, 12:02 PM Jeremy - Im in for the overflow can as soon as you have one in your hands! Payment on your way for the rad. Let me know how much for the can so I send payment raight away!
rhealeyogden 03-22-2004, 10:48 AM julio - please reply to my pm and email regarding the brakes.... still waiting.... thanks
speedmonkee 03-24-2004, 04:51 PM Overflow can is finally being worked on. We got 2 race cars out of the garage and now I've gotten engineering's attention! whew!
Designs are under way.
I'd like to take a quick poll who is interested.
1> Julio
2> Steveparts
3> Leo
4> ?
5> ?
Anyone else interested - a group of 5 will help with initial costs and keeping them down. The more people, the cheaper I can get them.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Chaste Automotive 03-24-2004, 05:10 PM Hey Jeremy I emailed you guys a few times get back to me I have a customer for a radiator but I had a few questions.
Julio 03-24-2004, 05:17 PM Jeremy - I WILL need it for my 550+awhp beast! :D
Any ETA on the cans? Price estimate?
Nivek-CA 03-25-2004, 05:06 AM What is the weight of the stock radiator? I think Jeremy's is 9 lbs.
Nivek-CA 03-25-2004, 05:06 AM What is the weight of the stock radiator? I think Jeremy's is 9 lbs.
speedmonkee 03-26-2004, 12:02 PM Weight of the stock rad is 7+ lbs if I remember correctly. SMP rad is about 8.9 lbs.
Jeremy
speedmonkee 03-26-2004, 01:49 PM Starting with my next batch of rads, SMP will be offering our customers the option for a temp probe mount fitting 1/8 NPT.
If you are interesting in getting a gauge, we can definitely work out a package deal with our rads.
I have access to all major gauge brands.
Jeremy
ps. Anyone have an EVO 8 or know of someone with one? I need your rad for 2 weeks. Our next project.
Nivek-CA 03-26-2004, 02:03 PM I know someone with an SRT-4.
Hey Jeremy, if I got one of those SECS data monitors from Quantum Racing, wouldn't that provide the temperature data being sent to the computer. In other words, doesn't the ECU monitor the temp through its own temperature probe, which the SECS simply displays.
I know this is a cross over question into a product, you do not carry but maybe you know how the ECU monitors temperature on its own--or does not monitor it.
speedmonkee 03-26-2004, 04:35 PM I know the stock ECU measures water temp.
But I have no idea what other product you are talking about.
our probe fitting is specifically for after market gauges - racers -who need to see it on a hot track/auto cross or rally day.
Jeremy
Julio 03-26-2004, 05:21 PM Jeremy:
Any ETA on the cans? Price estimate?
speedmonkee 03-26-2004, 05:24 PM working on finishing the mounts to the fans. Expect first proto type done on Monday or Tuesday.
ETA is 2 weeks from first prod rollout.
Pricing is still TBD. I am trying for less than $100
If we can get an initial order of 10, we can get better pricing - so tell your friends - once I get photos out there.
Proto will be rougher than the prod version obviously.
speedmonkee 04-01-2004, 01:55 AM Here's the rough pic of our new overflow can. Crease in the mid section of the can is used to view the fluid level. Also, the top of the can is not finished. We haven't determined the top yet.
Let me know what you guys think.

What's the final price on these, and an ETA?
speedmonkee 04-05-2004, 06:42 PM I will hopefully have that for you by WEdnesday. We are building 5 right now to meet existing orders. Shipping out by end of this week. Place your reservation with me and I will make sure you get one. A lot of show cars will be carrying these in the next coming months.
Jeremy
speedmonkee 04-07-2004, 02:43 PM The pics above don't show the mount or the screw on tops for adding coolant. We are retaining the stock hole location for the rubber line to drain. Unfortunately, my camera was in my other car - so I don't have pics to share yet.
ETA on the first 5 are due in 10 biz days. (We are heading out to the Toyota Grand Prix in Long Beach - so our manufacturing facility is closed next week) I've ordered a batch of 25 - so we will have plenty to go around for everyone.
For the extra bling factor, we are polishing these cans for show cars. Price is $115 shipped (non polished version). CA residents need to pay sales tax. Call/email for polishing.
Julio and Mike - contact me for yours.
speedmonkee 04-09-2004, 08:07 PM Polished Version Pics. This is for a show car. Can be done to yours when ordering. Mounts in the Stock location - bolts into existing fans using 10mm bolts. All aluminum. Yeah, its still missing hole for stock return line.
Let me know what you guys think.

onefasazn 04-09-2004, 08:28 PM are you guys gonna make the little bar thing on the side that shows how much collant is in there? kinda like some of the catch cans that have them(cusco I think)......
look nice tho, and bolt up like stock? even better...
JAN
speedmonkee 04-09-2004, 08:34 PM We are doing what race cars do - put a line in the can - so when you look down, you can see the level of coolant in it. That's what the crease is for.
We can do a level indicator - but I want to keep this simple and at a decent fair price.
Jeremy
stevesparts 04-10-2004, 06:42 PM :D :D :D Look's good!!!!

I am about to send payment this week. Those are the same finish as the radiator right? How much for the shroud?
speedmonkee 04-19-2004, 11:22 PM The one you are talking about is the standard overflow can (no finish). Yes - its the same unfinished look as the radiator.
Shroud is $35. I only have 1 left in stock. Ordering more this week.
