i was looking into a new louder horn like something from jcwhitney but lots of them have a high and low pitch. what pitch would be closest to the stock horn and does anyone have specs of the stock horn?

thanks

Got mine for $40 shipped on Ebay. Instructions are worthless, so doing a search before diving in is recommended.

Some tips for the supertones...

- Don't just wire in using the existing horn wiring; definitely not enough current capacity.

- I used #10 ignition wire for both power and ground, with soldered lugs; the right is grounded at the ground bolt on the rt fender, in front of the airbox; left is grounded at a ground bolt down on the "frame" channel just behind the radiator.

- Use the existing horn wiring from the left horn to switch the added relay; I mounted the relay on the front bolt of the fuse cover behind the battery - very convenient for connections.

- Relay power can come right off the battery clamp with the appropriate sized lug; probably best to add an inline fuse (but I haven't gotten around to it yet).

- Ground the relay switch at the bolt on the fender where the battery is grounded.

I used some 1" x 1/8" Al strap and bent it in a shallow Z to mount the horns in the outer corners of the grill, using the radiator mount bolts. There's very little clearance between horn/grill and horn/radiator, but they do fit nicely if the brackets are bent correctly.

I'll try to post some pictures...
