I saw a toyota ECHO yes Echo. all riced out
It had 16 in rims(they did look good) and a toyota logo in this sparkley pinkish color and it was...and I'm not exagerating 3 ft. X 4ft. it was hideous. I was on my bike at the time and I wanted to get a better look. so I shifted in tho "vetec" well top gear and the sad part was I almost caught up ..litterally. and then later that day I saw a toyota tercel..yes TERCEL with dual 4 in exuast it was soooo ricey. Man forget hondas toyotas are our new enemy

My girlfriend thinks toyotas are the greatest, boy is she wrong.. Just look at the latest echos. Oh well I'll stop ragging on toyota (cause she's yelling at me now) but I'd have to say the worst I've seen was a '96 corolla with knight rider led lights on the front dash leds in the headlights, on the rear view mirror, lowered to the ground with no ground effects,bondo spots and an ill fitting body kit. now that's rice...

Gotta go, she's complaining again... oh well, at least she likes subarus too.

Pretty funny guys. Yeah, those Echos (or Specks as I call them) are just dumb. I don't see how anyone could take pride in owning one of those things... At least not to the point where they'd try to get people to look at the car. Now everyone will just look and laugh.

I saw a ford fiesta w/ a HUGE vynal sticker accross the car. seriously it covered the whole side of the car. it said "Fiesta" i just laughed. if you don't know what a fiesta looks like. it's in the same family as the metro.

Don't laugh too hard at any of those cars. I seen to remember something called a Justy.

I know those cars are sad.. but there are some people who just cant afford anything else. I mean not so rich families need transportation too.

But I realize that you guys were talking about riced out Echos and Fiestas. As far as that goes.. I agree.. why bother.. only so much you can do with it.

But the gentlemen that brought up the Justy.. well that is like the distand cousin we would all like to forget haha

I think Echos are fine as long as they are not riced out. Sure they are ugly... but that is all some people can afford. so to each his own.

Lets not bash Toyota to fast here. They did bring us the wonderful Twin Turbo Supra. Any of you guys seen the iside of an echo?

The speedo is in the middle of the dash. Why? Because it's cheaper to make it this way. They don't have to make two moulds for the LHD and RHD cars. What's the problem, you ask? No problem at all, if you're crosseyed or have independently focusable eyes that is.

Also, anyone notice that the Echo, Focus, Daewoo Lanos and such cars all seem to be really tall and really narrow? Why? Because then they can have more passanger room to advertise. I've had the displeasure of driving two of them around for a day and they feel like they will tip right over at every turn.

POS, all of them. If you can't afford a decent new car, do yourself a favor and buy a decent used car.

OK . . Subaru Justy is the Red-Headed Step Child, but . . . a co-worker has one . . .all rallied out, nice rims, some engine work and suspension . . .got some Hellas on a front rack . . .looks pretty cool and drives nice to boot. The little beater could probably smoke most of the Hondas and Toyotas out there.

I really don't understand why people buy those cars, when you could buy a nicer, used car that is a few years old for the same money. For the price I paid for my Evo, I could have bought a brand new Suzuki Swift (Geo Metro) or a Hyundai Accent.

Hey, Imprezive, I have seen some pretty ricey scoobs in the I club, but I won't mention any names.

Subaru still make Justys, but they don't sell them in the U.S. Here's some other trivia, Subaru lie when they say every car they make is AWD. Every car they sell in the U.S. is AWD, but I can go to my dealer and by a front wheel drive Impreza.

I saw a yellow vw bug that looks like Pikachu...got ears on the roof and everything, with pokemon sticker all over the whole car,,,

i think that this is kinda out of place. sure the echo may not be the greatest car in the world, but hey the owner likes it and wants to individualize his car for his tastes and likes. even though it may be overdone, we are in no position to judge anyone elses car! afterall we are all car ENTHUSIASTS - which ever car we may be enthused about http://208.9.184.67/NonCGI/smile.gif

As far as dissing Hondas go - I also have a 1993 Prelude. if subaru was selling 300-400k cars in some of there models (i.e. like honda does there civics and accords) i'm sure you will see many of what you call "riced out" cars from subaru owners.

As far as I am concerned, rice is rice. You can rice out any car, be it a Toyota or a Lamborghini. Veilside make body kits for Porsche's which make them just as ricey as a Veilside Civic.

Now correct me If I'm wrong, but when I think of rice I think of people putting stikers and mufflers to make their car look and sound fast when it is not...so If a porsche or LAMBO has stikers and junk it is fast so they have a reason to draw attention. And second of all I think bodykits are TIGHT!!!! not ricey!!...nut that is my opinion.

ImprezaFreak - thats true.. yea at first i thought the dash was all styling thats why it was in the middle... hmm.. anyways.. yea buying a good used car.. now thats a question u gotta ask yourself.. my friend was in that situation.. at 10k he couldve bought a 95 used GSR 5 speed fully loaded leather blah.. or a new echo 5 speed.. now the choice is gettin a NEW CAR or an OLD one.. for some it may be easier to chose.. i personlly told him to get the GSR.. because its fast..and told him echo is good cause its new but its not meant to go fast..and he likes to floor his camry right now hhe.. i told him the gsr can keep up with my GTS heh.. plus even though the used car may seem fine when u buy it.. u never know what will come up in the near future.. with new u dont have to worry.. thats just my opinion..

My cousin test drove a Toyota Corrolla (2000) with me in the car. When the salesman asked her what she thought she was timid and said "it's ok." Then he asked me, didn't get the answer he wanted.
