Wudddayouthink?

Got them from Jcwhitney.com for $29, have them rigged into my high beams so the 100 watts are a little insane
I also put some MTEC Yellows in my stock locations

Nice job. I'd like to see a close-up or two showing how you mounted them. Looks like you drilled through the top horizontal surface of the plastic bumper skin. Howinheck did you get the nuts onto the bottom of the bolts? How solid is the mounting - solid enough that the beam is solid and stable?

I used (2) 5" metal brackets and used some self tapping bolts that go right into the bumper beam, they hold pretty solid, but if you torque them too much, they strip and wobble.

I'm actually playing with the idea of putting them behind the grille, what do you think?

What I'd like would be to replace the grille and surround with one that omits the horizontal filler bars altogether. That would leave a nice, clean, empty opening just begging for driving lights to be recessed into it. They'd be better protected there, too.

Mounting them behind the grill is probably even easier. All you need is a short piece of angle bracket to attach to the radiator crossmember and mount the lights from above.

I don't think behind-the-grille lights on 2nd-gen Foresters will yield much useful light or beam pattern unless the stock grille is replaced with something a lot more open.
