View Full Version : Oil sensor for lamco gauge pod??

I have an 04 black sti and have just purchased the factory OEM Lamco gauge pod and need an oil sensor for the oil temp gauge does anyone know if any sensor plug will work or if I have to order it from subaru and pay I think he said almost $200. Please help running out of options

Did you get just the pod without gauges or the complete gauge pack? If you got the complete pack the sensor should have been included.
If you have the Lamco gauge you would probably need the compatible sensor so the gauge will be accurate. If you are using a different gauge you need a sensor that is compatible with that one. It is possible that different sensors will work but you can't tell if they are the same without actually testing them, or seeing the technical specs. The sensors are thermistors so their calibration depends on their resistance at given temperatures.

I agree with mulder. The sensors are gauge specific so be careful about buying any temp sensor- BUT that is completely wrong that your gauge did not come with sensors. Talk to the person or place that you bought it from and make sure they understand the expense of this piece and see if they can cough up the piece or refund you the money.
