i was told the lightweight crank pulley should not be tighten over 100 ft/lbs....

but i checked that... the spec for the crank pulley bolt should be tighted to 177Nm which is about 120-130 ft/lbs ( stock pulley)

so .. any idea how much i should tighten my lightweight pulley..?

yeah ... i did a search here... those ppl tighten it at 95 ft/lbs .. seem like the bolt is getting loosen

so .. many ppl post here saying that.. they tighten the crank pulley bolt at 110 ft/lbs

and lately, more ppl post that they tighten it at 125 ft/lbs which is the spec for stock pulley....

so i m just wondering how much i should go for...

coz i don't want any thing fly arround under my hood...

so .. anyone REALLy know how much i should tight it ?

its aluminum though...125 seems way to tight (may deform aluminum); in my service manual it says 130.2 (ft-lb)

yeah .. 177Nm is what i got for the stock pulley which is around 130 ft/lbs

so u tighten your bolt to 110 ft/lbs.. without any problem..?

how long have to get your pulley installed?

thx for the advice..

I wouldn't tighten it much over the recommended number. I had a pulley that would not come off because it was tightened to stock ft/lbs. To this day rumor has it...the pulley remains.

hey .. jamie..

but the suggested spec for the pulley is 85-95 ft/lbs from mr josh ...

and the suggested spec for stock pulley is 130ft/lbs

so what should i do ...

i ask my profressor (mechanic in bcit) that.. he said.. it is no problem to tighten a leight weight pulley at stock spec...

they are soft metal.. but not that "soft"

so .. any more advice for me... before i m letting my stuff flying around under the hood.. hehehe
