I have to sell my rs and at the same time need to get a cheaper car. I was thinking of a Legacy turbo wagon but I also would like to do some minor mods to it. I was thinking of a turbo back, wrx turbo and some sort of ECU mod.
So the question comes up. Are there any type of ecu mods for the legacy turbo?

not sure if ya would need to. obd I is not that sensative to changes like that.
the first mod you should do is get rid of the snorkle box. its a big black box on the intake that keeps the sound of the turbo/bov from being excesive.
you will need to order like a 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 silicon reducer. then take the car down to a muffler shop, they can weld up a pipe with all the conections on it for about 30 bucks.
then get some high temp paint and paint it black.
this is the after, this pipe was made by a company in auzi land but its missing a vaccum port.

this is the res box (compliments of my car)
you can get away with out the reducer.

Check out http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/motor.htm
They sell an ETECIII that will work on the ej22t. They run the ej22ts in their rally cars and that's what they use. You'll pay to play though. Just drop them an e-mail about your needs.
Check this out before you get a new ECU. http://www.angelfire.com/md3/91turbolegacy/
Not mine but it shows how far you can go on the stock ECU with just a S-AFC and fuel cut defender.
And you do plan on running an intercooler with the WRX turbo right?

Thanks for the facts guys. I just got around to reading that website stated above. Good information. I wish the hp/quarter mile times were posted but it was real helpful.
