Anybody done this yet?? I really liked the Bosal downpipe on my WRX and would like to swap it over.
I know the turbo side is good ,,but I was wondering if there were any fitment issues with the bigger tranny?? I know the mounting plate on the Bosal downpipe to the tranny would have to go,but was wondering about pipe clearace.Anybody tried it yet?
Thanks

I think the Bosal would fit with the mount to the tranny removed.
The turbo on the Sti is a boost creeper, and the I think that the Bosal would just make it over boost more.
On my stock Sti it will over boost with a boost controller set to 15psi when I am in 6th gear.

I installed one last week, did have to take off the tranny mount.
Don't know about boost creep, but it spools up quicker and I can feel and hear the difference. Tires really chirp going it to 2nd. Good fit, did get the CEL(fix on the way), it was local and I picked it up used for $125.
Did have a cross-threaded bolt on the turbo from the factory.
Took a hour of slowly twisting the bolt until it snapped, thanks goodness it was not one of the studs.

Wouldn't a bellmouth designed downpipe be more likey to cause boost creep compared to a divorced wastegate design?

Where are you getting your CEL fix,,im told the ones for the 02-03 WRX will NOT work on the O4 and the only ones available that work are Scoobysport or the one soon to be realeased by Perrin??
Thanks again

I looked under CEL fix STi and one guy had posted new wire in point on the ecu. He said that worked for him, however, he didn't say which CEL fix manufactor he had. I have PEP one on order, hope it will work with the wire diagrams he posted.

Yes, but that doesn't address my question in the slightest. The only refrence that article makes if there isn't enough clearance in a poorly designed downpipe for the wastegate to open.
