I have one of the TXS V.2 TMIC setting in my garage and I am wondering if anyone has actually tried to put one of these on yet. I think the bracket locations will be off by 1/2 inch but will everything else line up and does it still go in the space since it is shifted back that 1/2 inch due to the "fly by wire" throttle.
I thought I would ask here before I try it.

I went searching and I think he actually installed a Front Mount not a Top Mount. Anyone else??

I can tell you that what you are trying to accomplish will not work without some reworking. The bracket locations on the sides of the TMIC are for the WRX and the STI bracket locations are not the same.
Therefore there is no way to slide the bolts into place which secure the TMIC to the TMIC brakets. Atempting to put bolts through these brackets is not reccomended for that reason we have not sold a TMIC for use on the STi.
Stay tuned for the same good version II core with STI mounting points specifically for the STI TMIC brackets.
Thanks,

Good news indeed.

We have a top mount for 02 and newer aplications including 04 WRX & STi. We run it on both our 03 WRX, and 04 STi, and fitment is the same except for one bolt location. We have sold quite a few of them with no reported issues.

The Vishnu one went on my STi this morning. We had to fool around with it for about 45 min. The red tubing needed to be pushed over the stop bump on the Y pipe a 1/2"or so, and the throttle body on the STi is a couple mm's bigger than the outlet of the intercooler, so the connectin hose is slightly miss-shapen,but no pressure leaks so far, and its on good and solid
I had the Vishnu top mount left over from my former WRX.

I was doing a gauge install this past weekend and had to take off the intercooler to get to the oil pressure plug under the throttle body. While I had everything apart I test fit the TXS intercooler just to see what the issues are. It drops right in place with no issues. The hose locations are the same, etc. There is plenty of room and it even appears that with a little work on the splitter seal it will matchup to that also. The only issue is the two mounting brackets being about 9/16" too far back. With a TIG welder this can be easily solved. After I get a few more miles on the car I will be moving the brackets on the TMIC and installing the TXS unit. I took lots of photos and maybe I'll put them on my web page later on.

do you think getting 02-03 intercooler mounts would work? or is it the engine mounting location that is the problem?

I think the mounting brackets are already the same. They just moved the tabs on the intercooler forward to shift the intercooler core back to allow room for the new throttle body.

I posted a couple pictures on my web page comparing the Stock STI TMIC to the TXS and also one of the issue with the brackets. CLICK HERE (http://home.comcast.net/~jlschnll/wsb/html/view.cgi-home.html-.html) and look under the photo section. I have a lot more photos if someone really wants them but there are too many and they are too large to post all of them on the web site.
