2400 miles, never heard any ping, filled up at exxon after work, PING--loud. only at wot, only above 4 grand. god i hope i just got a bad tank of gas. anyway, went to sherwin williams, got some toluene, and put in the whole gallon. knock was still there, just not as bad. Is there any sure cure for it without violating your warranty? I have heard good and bad about the reflash. If it is purely an octane issue, then I will get a drum of 96 or something and keep it at the house. but geez, its a brand new completely stock car:furious:

just had a thought. I got my gas from a pump with only one nozzle for all 3 grades(87,89,93 in GA.) Maybe we should stick to stations that have a nozzle for each grade so there is no 87 chillin out in the line going in your tank first before the 93 comes through? Just a thought, don't shoot me down:rolleyes:

take it for what you want, he may be right he may not be. but i'd believe a person of his experiece before i believe a desktop mechanic on the web.

then reset the ecu and beat the piss outta her, see what happens.

It could easily just be a bad tank of gas. I stick to Sunoco and BP (amoco) personally.
