Anyone know what's that little solar sensor under the front windshield?

Yeah I was wondering that too. I thought it could be there because it could be used for automatic headlights in other models. A lot of cars have dummy plugs/covers in certain places that are just sitting there unless the model car it is in utilizes it. Any other ideas on what it could be?

It is for the semi-auto climate control system that is in the 04 USDM STi. It is interesting how the system works. It reads the solar sensor to determine how sunny it is ( if the sun is on you you feel warmer even if it's cold outside.) The interior temp sensor, the exterior temp sensor. All to try and maintain a desired comfort setting.
Hope this helps

my old 1991 Maxima had a sensor like that.. I don't think it never did anything really.. But I never seen the one in the STi.
