View Full Version : Speedware Harness Bar and Sparco 4-Point Harness GB.
RallySport Direct 10-08-2003, 05:48 PM Hey everyone! We have put together a Awesome deal for you all. We have had a lot of customers ask for 4-point harness systems. We have joined up with Speedware and Sparco to bring you a solution.
The Speedware harness bar features all hand built stainless construction and electro polished finish. The Speedware harness bar allows the use of racing harness in your WRX without adversely affecting the car's "people mover" capabilities.
The resulting ride stiffens the center of the car allowing the WRX to handle much harder cornering loads.
The Speedware harness bar will fit in 2002-2004 Subaru WRX’s including the New STI. Installation is very simple and is a direct bolt in. There is no need to make custom parts. You will still be able to recline your seats. If your seat is all the way back on the rails, you will still have a few inches to recline.
Sparco 4-Point Harness system. This system will include full 3” competition harnesses with a cam lock system. Included is the 48” shoulder harness, the pull down lap belt and mounting brackets to attach the lap belt to the seat belt bracket. This will include evryting that you need to install the harness bar and the 4-point harnesses. These are Sparco’s top of the line harnesses and are SFI approved.
Available Colors: Red, Blue, and Black.

Rapid_Roo 10-08-2003, 07:23 PM where do the harness attach to? and where does the bar bolt to??
And I know this next question is wierd, but if I wanted to attach 4 pt harness in the rear, how would I go about doing so.
I do road rallies, and at times I have more than one navigator, and the one that needs the harnesses the most is the poor sap in the back. you should see them sliding along on the leather in the back of the WRX, while trying to hold on to maps and route instructions.
thanks for any info,
RR:D
RallySport Direct 10-08-2003, 07:41 PM Rapid_Roo - The harness attaches to the harness bar. This picture might help.
The harness bar itself attaches to the factory seat belt locaton on the b-pillar and down on the floor. There is a mounting bolt between the seat rail, and the b-pillar, underneath the carpet that the bottom of the harness bar attaches to.
As far as putting a 4-point harness in the back seat, I have never heard of it being done. One thing to remember when installing a harness system, is you need the harness to run straight off the back of the seat and connect to either a harness bar or a roll cage. If you fail to do this, it renders the harness useless.
Rapid_Roo 10-08-2003, 07:43 PM thank you, that was very helpful.

dorongo 10-08-2003, 11:33 PM once installed, can you still move the seatbelt up/down?
stirex 10-09-2003, 12:37 AM Any chance of getting a package w/ a 5 pt harness?
Another thing...is that wise to have rear passengers with a harness bar installed?
8Complex 10-09-2003, 06:17 AM Just a bunch of comments, cause I'm full of them for some reason this evening. :)
If you buckle up in the back seat, no worries. If you're worried about hitting something with rear seat passengers, then it might be to your advantage to put some padding on the top/backside of the bars or something.
Those are nice seats in the pictures... real shame they have TV's installed in them. :(
Looks like a very nice bar setup. Any chances of a shot showing how they're bolted to the seat belt mounts? And maybe the floor mounts as well?
dorongo 10-09-2003, 10:13 AM what is the lap belt connected to?
thanks
RallySport Direct 10-09-2003, 10:41 AM dorongo - I'm pretty sure that you can. I will put a call in today and double check on that. I will se exactly where it mounts to on the b-pillar.
stirex - I had originally thought about putting in a 5-point harness with this, but to attach it to the wrx, you need to make a custom bracket that would run along the floor from seat rail to seat rail. If you didn't want to do that you have the alternative to drilling a hole in the floor and mounting it up that way.
Sparco's recommendation was not to run a 5-point if you can't have the sub belt run thought the seat. Either way, if you are interested, a 5 or a 6-point system can be added to the deal. Email me and we can work something out.
8Complex - I will work on some pictures.
dorongo - The lap belt connects to the seat belt brackets on the side of the seat. This is where the bolt in kit comes into play. You will mount the bolt-in bracket on the seat belt bracket and the harness will loop through the bolt-in bracket. I hope that this makes sense. I picture is worth a thousand words. I will see what I can do as far as pictures go in the next few days.

ITWRX4ME 10-26-2003, 07:31 PM If Speedware would get their isht together and make a reasonably priced bar, I'd buy it. Get rid of the stainless steel/electro polish and sell me a bar for 200 bucks.
